Are you mad? Totally! Bonkers, raving, doolally, etc, but if these things are like the old aircooled 500 to drive, then you will have so much low-speed fun you won't care. And you'll be doing hundreds of miles per gallon too, win-win!

Fantastic! I saw this on Ebay and thought it was a right stunna! Love the 126's and 127's 8)

Erm, my mum had ones of these yonks back. Despite how abjectly awful my Passat is I can't think of a single car I've driven as bad as a 126. But look on the bright side, you have a Transit at the end of your drive and your neighbour has an Astra Mk4, so at least you have two nice things to look at out of your front window.

Hahahaha! I got her for £310, I reckon a steal at that price, been in contact with the owner via the auction site and he seems really genuine. Going to collect her tuesday or wednesday so expect an update thats either good or bad  Cavette, I had a Bis model a couple of years back but always hankered after the air cooled model so I kind of know what to expect, lack of performance, noise and cramps........ CANT WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D:D:D

Brill. I wanted one of these when I was looking for a first car... in fact I nearly bought one but the 2cv was £50 cheaper.

Fantastic, I love the boxy looks of the 126. I love my scale model of one.

I hope you will drive around in the summer with the engine lid open.

ever seen this?

HAHAHAHA, how weird is that? I was thinking of a Z cars style job as got a ZRX1100 lump laying around but not sure as yet, so many possibilities!

Probably have to just to keep cool!

Good stuff - just don't spin it! These really work well with 2mm skimmed off the cylinder head.

Wasn't this featured in the Ebay Tat thread just the other day? :)

I love these little cars. There are loads of things you can do, often quite cheaply, to virtually double the POWA and plenty of fanboy supports on the web. :D:D8)8)

Excellent work, the spit of my first ever car GWX139T. Who's engine went on to power another 126 which took two 18 stone rugby players from England to Greece via Israel

Great little cars, noisy, bouncy, cramped.. I love them!

Does this one still have the pull lever for the starter?

hated them when I was younger but now think they are overflowing with WIN and it looks great in orange....top stuff.

Gutted you are selling that 3i as well coz I have nowhere to put it.

ha! thats ace.

I remember a lad around the corner from me had one in the early 90s.

If it is a pull start one, its the little levers either side of the hand brake, one is the choke, the other the starter.

They have a habit of shaking the exhaust off, and also blowing plugs out. Other than that they're pretty unburstable.

Kingpins need greasing, and driveshaft donuts can perish, but parts are pretty well supported by the 500 club, as most of these aircooled ones get raped by 500 owners for the engine and box (bigger capacity and syncro on 2nd, 3rd and 4th).

They're an absolute hoot to drive, once you get used to the lack of power!

Great purchase that man :D

I used to get a lift home from school in one when I was a kid...it's amazing how memories can fade but blind fear lives with you forever

Cant wait to collect her and get stuck in!!!!!!! Gotta be a sound investment too with fuel costs hitting so hard!!!!!!!! :x

Ace. Surely a Fiat 500 for the shite lover? Keeping the 126 engine and box in a 126 is a recipe for win.

Was thinking, get her sorted, total vinyl wrap and a few gentle engine mods possibly?
