I find a short e-mail with contact details always works - it's a nice car, is Tim's one and I think if a forum member wanted it, he'd sort something out - he doesn't want daydreamers ... that is all!

I have NO problem with irish people, quite the opposite infact as I find them charming and friendly. BUT it is not the UK Mainland, so therein lies the problem, which causes delays on collection, or the "can you collect me from the airport" request or "can you get me a quote to get the car transported to fishguard" etc etc etc. One guy even asked me to DRIVE it to the ferry port myself and he would contribute towards the fuel.

I sold a very cheap Sierra to a chap in the emerald isle last year, it was collected by a very dodgy looking fellow with 50ft car transporter full of accident damaged motors, which wasnt ideal on a small quiet cul de sac  it took him a while to sort it out and he wasnt very forthcoming with the cash and every time he rang me it would ring once then cut off so I wold call HIM back to save his phone bill!

I work too many hours on dark evenings to piss about so sorry, collection in person by UK Mainland bidders only.

I need the cash and space asap, as usual a few interested parties/daydreamers/champagne taste and bear money types from various car forums which came to sod all (probably once they had mentioned it to she who must be obeyed I expect) so ebay is the way it must go and I wont be withdrawing it from sale for anyone!.

I am looking for a Beetle in the new year though (yes a proper one)

LOLz!!! I have to say, this is my experience as well, "I'll have it, can you just get it to the port", 'I'll send my mate to pick it up in a month on his transporter" etc etc

No disrespect RENOMAD, but I've had this from Irish buyers as well. Although I'm not sure OLDSKOOL1977 counts as Irish, a person, or a buyer. I think he might have been in a class of one.

Had quite the opposite experience selling my Toyota Corolla AE86

They were all phoning from the ferry telling me to tell the guys that got there before them to "feck off" etc

Sold to the first guy that got there of course.

The handful of Irish buyers I've encountered were class. One left me some mad sort of paintsripper that masqueraded as a home brewed spirit and another one I used to deal with quite a bit was banned from driving and always in a rush, so I had to meet him at the ferry and he'd throw cash at me then wheelspin away in a hurry.

Nice car, and really well worded advert.

Especially the BRAN NEW alloy wheel

My one dealing with an Irish fella saw him the proud owner of a Polo G40, in a service road at East Midlands Airport. He then asked me the classic question.... "Which way is the port?"

I took pity and gave him a road atlas :)

Didnt you know that Kellogs Made alloys

I read it twice, but only noticed that AFTER someone had bid (within the first hour of the auction I may ad), and once bids are placed you cant edit the listing, just add to it.

Anyway, going....going.......
