Looks like an bargain at £700 notes, that includes fees, VAT and the deposit!

There was a technical glitch online, the whole online auction stopped - so it got no bids! I phoned up an 9:30PM and they said my proxy bid had been accepted as no one else had put one on!

Bingo!

If that’s a power shift then you better scoop out the drivers seat foam to accommodate your massive bollocks 😂

Yep i know its powershit... but for 700 notes if it needs a box it needs a box. It did drive into the hall with no issues.

However this does look to be early 2011, didnt they have the better boxes in these ones and not the one you want to avoid?

Powershift on the 2.0 petrol and diesel. The 2.2’s got the other, more reliable, box.

if it’s late or jerky on gear change, particularly after sitting in drive in stop start traffic, move it on for a quick profit. A second hand powershift and fitting would be what you paid for the whole thing and might have the same issue.

best of luck!

did drive into the hall with no issues.

A ringing endorsement.

See also " Titanic was fine when leaving Southampton" and " Harold Shipman had an excellent bedside manner".

On a serious note titanium fords are good value for money.

I used to rent these every weekend to run around the terminals at Heathrow picking up students for the Summer Schools I used to manage.

They really are a superb bit of kit. The fold away seats are great, as they can be flipped up or down/moved in seconds, which was super handy when picking up random numbers of people and various luggage.

Some days I'd do over 200 miles and not even leave the airport!

Powershift is always a gamble. If they have been serviced correctly they are not too bad, however many are not as the 'special fluid' they use used to cost more than race horse semen.

It seems to have come down in price a little, but still you can see why the services get skipped.

Kit is already on order and waiting at the garage I use. :)

It very much depends how they have been used, I've seen them do 200,000 miles with no issue when used predominantly on long journeys but start juddering at 30k when used a cab in London. The cabs were prevented from failing by 25k oil changes, expensive but cheap comparred to a new trans.

Home!

2 immediate issues to note!

1) need to find the radio code

2) needs brakes!

Other than that, from Bridlington to Hull drove fine - knock on the front end, sounds like drop links.
EML on, therefore was in limp mode but drives spot on! Went through all gears as it should no juddering or jerkiness nice and smooth.

And had 100 miles worth of Diesel in it to get me home!!!

Any idea what the limp mode is for yet?

Nah I’ll plug Forscan in over the weekend - can’t be much as it drove home happily enough!

Read the codes in FORScan

DPF clogged - no big deal!

Why has it clogged? Often there is a cause factor behind that. If it’s 11 plate I suspect it’s Euro 5? The previous E4 ones the pipes often burned through preventing a pressure reading. The Euro 5 2.0 TDCI units a common fault is the vapouriser is blocked. Is it running cool? Duff thermostat another common problem, if it’s running cool it won’t get the the temperature needed for a regen.

I would look into these before, it needs a full assessment of if there is a background cause to the DPF being blocked. Resist the temptation to just do a forced regen, there are probably background issues that will cause it to block up quickly.
