sierraman Posted November 8, 2025 Posted November 8, 2025 Quentin has passed away today, quite sad news, really enjoyed his pieces on TG. tooSavvy, theorganist, Richard_FM and 31 others 34
wesacosa Posted November 8, 2025 Posted November 8, 2025 yeah I liked his stuff too, and only 68. Very sad groovyboovy 1

ProgRocker Posted November 8, 2025 Posted November 8, 2025 Sad news. RIP ☹️ He used to be quite keen on Honda Legends istr from Old Top Gear. The Vicar and Motown 2
Wibble Posted November 8, 2025 Posted November 8, 2025 He did a most excellent review of the Vauxhall Senator. RIP. Bradders59, Motown, ProgRocker and 2 others 5
Dj_efk Posted November 8, 2025 Posted November 8, 2025 Yes just read this - apparently they tried pouring a couple of cans of this stuff down his throat at the 11th hour but it didn’t work. 1duck, HMC, theorganist and 5 others 2 6
JakeT Posted November 8, 2025 Posted November 8, 2025 In spite of the slightly whiffy stuff around mileages, he was always a sound chap it seemed and did a lot for ‘the motorist’ with the savings on fuel duty he campaigned for. His use of similes made Clarkson look like an amateur, too. Old top gear, and other programmes were all the richer for him being on them. Rustybullethole, Matty, Essex V6 and 9 others 3 9
Matty Posted November 8, 2025 Posted November 8, 2025 Another bit of my childhood gone. RIP Count Quentula. Top man. jon.k, Burnside, sierraman and 6 others 3 6

brownnova Posted November 8, 2025 Posted November 8, 2025 Genuine motoring legend. He used to live in Stratford where I grew up. Occasionally I’d see him filling up a Jaguar or some such at the local Shell. I do reckon his sections on old Top Gear on used cars are at least a little to blame for my car taste now! eddyramrod, Wibble, theorganist and 3 others 5 1

Dick Cheeseburger Posted November 8, 2025 Posted November 8, 2025 I met him at a Motorshow back in the 90s. I liked the idea of trying to find a way into motoring journalism at the time, and asked his advice. He was really sound and made the time to talk. I think he talked me out of it, to be fair and I ended up taking a four year B.Ed honours degree instead 😂. Whatever folks opinions are on him, 68 is way too young to go. Wibble, MrGTI6, Matty and 10 others 4 1 8
tooSavvy Posted November 8, 2025 Posted November 8, 2025 @Dick Cheeseburger.. karma 😮 I'm 68 He had 'all the gab!, true enough 👍 🚙💨 Matty and Dick Cheeseburger 2

Dick Cheeseburger Posted November 8, 2025 Posted November 8, 2025 Mrs Dick's friend's daughter is called Xantia. I should have grabbed a badge for her when they were plentiful in scrappies years back.
loserone Posted November 8, 2025 Posted November 8, 2025 I always thought naming children after where they were conceived was a bit crass. tooSavvy, R Lutz, Matty and 9 others 1 10 1

artdjones Posted November 8, 2025 Posted November 8, 2025 I know there was some dodgy stuff in his life, but sad. He never looked particularly robust. motorpunk 1
