I'm thinking a holiday is in order. I've had a shit year and some kind of break is well deserved. Obviously I need sunshine but a wide variety of tat to gawp at would be a necessity as well. any suggestions as to a good (cheap) destination? East Europe? The Balkans? Cyprus? Needless to say I would prefer somewhere where the ladies don't feel the need to cover their wobbily bits on the beach as well.

Others on here have told me that Malta is shite central, and warm!

I think that all the escort Mk1's that used to live in Malta have now been brought here...

I nearly booked a holiday a few months ago for Malta until we had that VOLCANO CHAOS due to the amount of shite cars there are meant to be over there.

I also hear Cuba is meant to be good for shite.

I went to Turkey back in 2002 (Oludeniz which is a lovely place) and the roads were full of shite and every taxi was a Renault 18 Estate.

Rhyl?

Went to Paphos in Cyprus a few years ago and found very little automotive tat to speak of (also the only uncovered female I saw in 7 days was a gargantuan German woman of indeterminate age who looked like Moby Dick's grandma!!)

Have heard that the South of France can be quite good for both types of spotting, when you've had enough of the ladies on the beach at St Tropez head inland a few kilometres and spill your spaffle over an old simca,

job done 8)

Whitehaven or Bradford.

Both ideal holiday destinations for you, Wazza!

Rhyl?

Been there, done that and discovered there's F'kall there worth seeing. If you want Automotive Choddery, try Blackpool and surround or the Peak District. Usually something worth snapping in these areas... :D

Jaywick? ;):D

x2! I love shite spotting there, And as we discussed before, Every road is named after cars.

I agree, I went to Rhyl last year and saw sod all apart from a Granada and some chavs.

Ah but he'll feel at home in Rhyl because there's probably more scousers there than in Liverpool!

My suggestion is Tunisia. We went in 2007 and stayed in the resort of Sousse, but also went on various excursions. Everywhere was chock full of old Peugeot and Renault tat: Peugeot 404 pickups and 504s are two a penny and Renner 12s are a not uncommon sight. Also other things like Ford Taunuses - I even saw an old Orstin of some sort, and a Citroen GSA in a scrapyard!

Norway is pretty good still for mid 80s European and Jap tat, I went there last year and if used car prices are anything to go by, its no suprise that so much older stuff survives! I dont know what Oslo is like but up in the extreme North of the country (by the Russian Border), there is barely any new cars.

+1 for Tunisia, although there are no wobbly bits on show and it stinks of shit. I saw a modified 4CV there actually, very odd sight.

I reckon a lot of the places that were full of tat 5-10 years ago are becoming a bit less interesting, although I found there was quite alot of bilge driving about in Italy when I was there, and a luvverly Guilietta spider parked up in the garden of a cafe right next door to my hotel, which was nice.

Judging by VWP's threads (+lebencoin), looks like you can't beat France for sheer numbers of tat. Wobbly bits not always on show, but i've pulled a couple of smokin' hot French chicks before and they are d-i-r-t-y (in a good way!)

How about a trip to France to see the Pogweasel and Bo11ox favourite Iggy Pop 'bird?' Shite and wobbly bits a plenty, and you'll have your thread title engrained in your mind forever!

I've been abroad twice, first was Austria and the second was Spain. I'd deffo go to Austria again, I'd imagine a lot of non-ironic shite over there. It's a beauty of a place if you like being surrounded by mountains covered in pine trees.

funny enough i've only been abroad twice 2, went to greece for the first time about 8 years ago (i remember lots of tat being on the rhodes islands), decided from that moment i fancied somewhere 'a little warmer' then moved here 5 years ago

Get a cheap ticket and come here. It is of course winter now, but the shite is worth the trip and the cold. The wobbly bits are covered up now too :)

Were going to Cornwall soon, im very much hoping it should be shite central. I may even buy an A frame just in case I can bring anything back with me.

Devon seems to get progressively more shitelogged the further down you go. Fingers crossed Lands end will be stuck in the 80s!

Where better for a holiday than the spiritual home of Autoshite, even the name has that ring to it - Dungeness

The view of the nuclear power station from the lighthouse......

is second only to that of the lighthouse from the nuclear power station 8)

Accommodation is in the traditional style and offers ample parking

Seriously it is one of those places you must see before you die, there is nowhere else remotely like it; ugly but strangely fascinating. When we went there the whole place was shrouded in a sea mist which added to its surreal and other-worldly atmosphere. Look on flickr to see more.

Agreed on Dungeness! Its one of those places its worth going on a small detour to see if you are down that way. View from the lighthouse is quite good, on a sunny day you can see such delights as Folkestone (albeit in the distance).

I'd strongly recommend Greece though. Plenty of tat on all the islands. You can get cheapish flights to Rhodes and Crete plus a few other islands usually.

Torrential rain here for the last 36 hours. So not that different from the last 2 Junes I've had in the UK

Serious amounts of shite in Prague and plenty of comedy, miserable, ancient, crusty looking, Westerner hating ex-commies driving them.

In the city there will be a string of brand new normal cars parked up and one complete fucked Trabant in the middle with moss all over it and looking like the centre is about to drop out of its rusted-through steel wheel. They seriously don't give a shit about them but at the same time treasure them like they are made of confiscated Russian Rubles. Then a little old shrivelled prune of a man with no teeth and one eye will bark something aggressively at you in Czechoslovakian (or whatever they have divided their country into this week) about how much he hates Westerners and drive it off in slow motion in a cloud of blue smoke as the cobbled streets bounce it to pieces and bits drop off.

The food is good out there. Loads of big portions of meat and it's acceptable in their society to drink beer all day.

Another vote for Malta - get there before they get rid of all of the seriously shonky buses. I was there in 2003 and old crap was everywhere.

I've never done holidays, until a few years ago when I went to Poland for some cheap dental work, dentist found some horrors so had to extend my stay from a few days to a couple of weeks. Luckily it was the Northern bit of Polski where it meets the Baltic sea, nice beaches, fine white sand, short walk to get away from the touristy parts, Polish birds are uber fit, the place seems to be as yet unspoiled by the lazy chav selfish attitude that has swept most of Europe. Cars are a funny mix of extremes, from new credit agreements to old iron block stuff with used imported chod inbetween. From megachav hummerbummers, mustangpootang to Trabbies, Wartburgs, even MZ Simson S50s pulling trailers. Lots of fascinating architecture that managed to survive, peppered with bullet and shrapnel scars from where the krauts forced their way in, and then got forced back out.

This is my ideal beach, no people, just WW2 defences.
