This seems to fit the theme...

Got some slightly confused looks from other drivers that day.

Rack didn't stay on a minute beyond being needed though as it made an absolutely godawful racket anywhere above about 40mph when empty.

The Peugeot 404 had a roof bolt fitting for a roof rack. The good news is ours still has its roof rack even if it is not fitted while it is in grey primer.

Our Mercedes 200TE plucked from this very forum 10 years ago has always been a beast of burden with various things on the roof.

My Visa 17RD was sold to me in 2009 by a gnome complete with a roof rack and it was used occasionally for ladders etc.

When we had this Volvo 740 2.3 GLE Estate a friend was being given demolition timber to cut up and burn in his living room fire from his builder neighbour. As he was being given far more than he needed he salvaged the longer lengths and gave then to us for reuse. We made quite a few trips to his house with the 740 to carry away the loot.

How about an ambitious roof rack?

pretty sure I can win/kill this one right away! LOL

and its worse then it looks because its a *Villiers* machine, 197cc, 8.6Hp, single Jingle 2 stroke, just what you want for moving a triple settee up the welsh hills (which is where the shot was taken!)

from the ambitious tow bar thread amusingly I present the above need, I say more?

Suction cup bike rack thingy... worked brilliantly.

Must up my game to a proper rack on something... we did have one on the 323, never trusted it at the back though, you can just see the ratchet strap through the pop-out rear windows...

I have a set of Thule roof bars for the 740. Not used them much as the inside of the car is usually capacious enough and the bars are noisy...

The Dolly is currently sporting a basket style gutter mount rack borrowed from @320touring to take stuff to FOTU.

You can't really hear the wind noise from it either as the wind noise without it is already 100%...
