A truly wondrous thread! Welcome back Mr Bollox, good luck with the test and the rest of the trip.

That doesn’t sound too tragic. What’s the deal with getting it “legal” - or doesn’t it matter if you’re springing it out the country for good in a few days?

Tres bien, Muy buena, tidy darts 👍

Not a bad result, I am glad work has not been too busy as I have been following with interest on my IPad  while working on my laptop. I would love to do a trip like this. We stopped in Angouleme when I drove to Gibraltar in a Cortina and had the best meal ever in a very ordinary looking restaurant there. I drove from Angouleme to Jaen  in one day, I would love to do it again one day. I am really enjoying the updates, scenery, food etc. all fantastic and a fantastic experience you will remember forever.

A bit more weight in the back might get the wheel cylinder working.  For example, as much booze as possible:

.th?id=OIP.s-vvbxnek8nBwjnh_3dXXAHaFj&pid=Api&P=0&h=180

Seriously, probably best left alone as it might start leaking if provoked.

Great progress so far!   Bonne Route!

No manufacturer would ever show a brochure pic like that now, instead they are all pictures of beautiful people driving along coastal roads or in sanitised urban landscapes. Sigh.

I've been really enjoying this thread, pure escapism and a triumph for shiters everywhere.

French law allows you 2 months to get major defects fixed during which you can still drive, one thread I found states they give you a new ticket/card whatever to display with that 2 month expiry on it

For a critical defect it's midnight the same day.

Either way le_sac is all good to drive this home as per French law.

So what's 'critical' pour example? Assuming it drove in for the CT say?

I think I'd be tempted to bosh a couple of new tyres on the front at a 'le Kwik Fit' equivalent...

I would buy a couple of new hoops but who's gonna stock 145x13's nowadays? Seems like a big ask

I did find some on Eurotyre - but not sure of 'hauteur' so put 70 in, using Limoges here as had to put a garage in...

Doesn't mean they're actually in stock mind. I guess my thinking was if you have reduced braking, extra grip might be good!

145R13 is technically 145/82R13, but closest is 145/80R13

yes, and much easier to point at one's car than give multiple digits over the phone in French!

Quite a find that blue one innit. I think the only thing I could really do with is a RH rear door (assuming the LH one I've got my eye on, comes through OK)

and RHD lights I presume

The express's lights are pretty good considering one of them is cracked and they have beam deflectors on.  No issues with the MOT so far

Yeah, the Innocenti's lights always pass with deflectors fitted, but if RHD headlights existed I'd be tempted to fit them anyway.
