Collected this yesterday…. 19k miles from new, in really good condition. Auto, so the flat cap and sandals MG “ aficionados naturally despise it…collected from Great Yarmouth, 3 hour drive back in a monsoon, no leaks, no drama….

With working head gasket…..😁

No leaks. Winning.

Knew I should of pushed the boat out and bought @purplebargeken 's one instead of the Clio.

At least I have the pleasure the pleasure of torturing my large adult sized offspring by crowbaring them into the back of it i suppose.

Looks good 👍🏽

Did MGR's Project Drive efforts affect the TF to the same extent that it did the 75 etc?  You might find some "improvements" could be made by salvaging trim etc off earlier examples.

Later cars are on springs, not Hydralastic, interiors are different, but still ok.

Opinion seems to be divided between Hydragas and springs….

Hydragas definitely rides better in my experience, although later TFs apparently had retuned springs which helped a bit.

I may need the cheapest one of these to rebody with a Citroen 2CV van body.
200mm difference in body width so imagine widened arches.

Nice buying there @Rocket88

Metro subframes if I recall correctly? Front and rear...

How big is the engine? Is it VVC?

Every day's a school day.  I didn't even know that these existed in automatic form.

Surprisingly good to drive, in that you “ forget” it’s an auto

🤔 Do they still have a flappy clutch pedal & some play on the trans lever?

Posted

No clutch pedal! Flappy pedals on steering wheel, and also in yer aktual gearstick… or just leave it in D
