I’m sat comparing interest rates on bank loans so it shouldn’t be too long before I do something stupid 👍

If it involves a loan for a car then that is stupid.

Collected approx 4pm yesterday (went to view with a friend who needed something ASAP),  but I guess it doesn't count, was 10mins from the front door.

E320 CDI

134k

New winter avons

Everything works

Chap needed it gone as his wifes new car arrived the day before and he decided not to trade in his wifes car and sell his merc instead.

£850

There were some utterly stupid deals on these just before the new year, sadly I was a little slow and missed out on them 😭

I'd say 75% of the population use loans to buy cars, nothing stupid at all about it.

Less people are buying new though , going off finance deals many are now buying older cars , market is awash with newer gear dealers can't shift , if you can get a loan and walk into a dealer with it theyll be over you like a tramp at tattie soup

I’ve done the bank loan method 4 or 5 times now over the years and always been fine with it. I’d sooner that over finance at 19% APR like one of the ones I saw on AT last night where you’re stuck with that car for the period.

It’s not for everyone but I’ve always been fine with it.

Agree personal loans tend to be lower rates if your credit allows. Selling on finance isn’t hard but is a faff and makes it harder. Loan secured on the car does give you some limited consumer protection. Rates vary widely between dealers and also very much depends on your credit profile

I’ve just agreed to buy it factoring in the cost of a chain so that’s started my 2024 off well 😂

If you've managed to get the money off then how badly wrong can it go?
