Some late examples of the Cortina 1600E were painted Light Orchid metallic, which looks the business. The colour was revived in the late 1970s for the Escort 'Capital' special edition.

I can't believe no-one's mentioned the pink Metro yet!

Not this pink Metro, although it lived very close to the pink Metro

I remember watching this when I was younger, the kid driving it in the opening credits seemed to have a real hard time keeping it in a straight line

Here it is swerving all over the road like the Playdays Playbus

That's because it's based on a FWD Oldsmobile Toronado chassis, the driver is sat in the long nose and the engine is directly behind him over the front axle, and then it has all the gubbins in that strange rear compartment.  The weight distribution was completely fucked and therefore it was impossible to drive properly.

My folks had a Fiat Brava in a lovely metallic heather-type colour in the nineties. R reg, bought as an ex demo at 9 months old, SX spec iirc. I liked it, but I liked the Alfa the salesman took me on a drive in more.
