Attempting to get rid of everything, and by the “ all things to all men” car.

Provisos:

Must be tax and MOT exempt

Automatic, and with most creature comforts, ( pas etc)

Relatively maintenance friendly

Powerful to tow caravan

Reasonably economical

Reasonably cheap!

Think I’ve found the answer…. Viewing Friday

Talbot Tagora!

(Does that count as British?  It's basically a Hillman, isn't it?)

Dibs when you sell it. That's lovely, I didn't realise they were as late as 1984. "Modern" engine and box too.

What are you towing?

Well played that man. Was going to suggest a Yeti, but that beats one hands down :)

Small caravan, garden trailer …. It’s a bit difficult to find a definitive towing capacity for an SE6a.” Middlebridge Scimitars survived until the very late eighties….

Fantastic! is this one of the “middlebridge” ones?

Middlebridge ones are now fetching 5 figures in “ average “ condition. This is a SE6b with Middlebridge mechanical bits….. 2.9 efi, four speed Auto, power steering, coil overs all round and a few other refinements

How much did you pay? Has it got a wooden dash? And what does it really do to the galleon, when not towing?

That looks rather good, and I say that as somone indifferent to Scimitars usually.

Bizarrely enough, every electrical thing ( even the clock!) works, and that other Scimitar malaise, cracked dashboard top, is not in evidence

Can anyone who knows how invert these photos for me?
