In future could you guys please tell me cars are shit BEFORE I buy them?

I mean, I'll still buy them but it won't be a journey of discovery every time

Does that mean the axle / wheel is about to fall off?

If no, I'd wait until the next MoT. Because I'm fussy like that.

these lads got a Key West from the scrappy and took it pretty much straight for an MOT.

I imagine the story was similar with mine except I got my cheeks parted on eBay after the MOT instead of before.

Sad looking rear axle but cool car

You can do a DIY rebuild but it's a major pain in the ass.

This is Autoshite. Where's the fun in taking the easy option to save a couple of quid? 😉

Many members have a track record for inflicting pain on themselves, this doesn't have to be any different 😄

Good news! The driver's side front has compensated for the guffed rear pivot bearing. Now it leans heavily to the driver's side rather than just the rear quarter.

This photo was taken mostly level.

Spring is in tact but putting some heavy load on that bushing. I'm assuming tired shock and tired spring but need to muster together some money for parts. Looks like this bad boy is gonna be parked up for a little while again.

In other news there's potentially another near-scrap car coming my way in about a week.

Looking forward to witnessing more misery. Swapping out the entire strut should be fairly straight forward on one of these though, right?
