Didn't we have a lovely time the day we went to gaydon

I found myself driving up to Gaydon last year, or maybe the year before, on my way back from somewhere or other.  Thought it would be a nice little interlude.  Drove around until I found what I thought was a suitable parking slot.  Approached the door.  Saw the price of admission.  Got the hell out of Dodge!

dam........

That doesn't seem too bad to me. We go to caravan shows at the NEC which cost around a tenner, and you end up buying something for a huge amount of money as well!

Yes exactly.  Defence rests.

Gift-aid it, and your ticket becomes a pass valid for 12 months.

I remember when the current premises was launched as the “heritage motor centre” (hence my username) in about 1993.

Its very much more of a broad church now with acquisitions such as the David hill collection, which is A Good Thing.

A little bit of me is sorry about the 2003 sell off of some of the collection. Before then it was a bit of a shite lovers dream of various esoteric first and lasts. Last allegro VDP? Don’t sell it to a semi crippled pensioner have it wheeled off to gaydon. ETC. I guess that’s a bit harder to monetise.

It’s a bit less niche now with Less of an emphasis on various automotive orphans- some do remain thankfully.

I've sat in that Jag prototype (the one closest to the camera). Bit of a travesty that it wasn't taken to production.

I'm still a bit cross that I didn't nick the pewter lighter.
