This picture has just reminded me of how common it was to see Mini’s with the number plate relocated to the grille. A bit like all the Avenger and Hunter estates with the back one screwed onto the tailgate, when fitted with a towbar.

Was going to say similar, but why? Ok, low clearance on Mini but airflow reduction (yes, I know where the rad is).  Tailgate plates looked a bit radical, but good
