Cheers guys.50/50 at best,I suspect- & then it'll have to go to the back of a fairly lengthy queue (- hopefully shortening as the weather gets better/days longer).Reg - interested in the trip? We could % the costs so you could strip the bits off the scrapper that you need to sort yours. Bring them back inside the blue one.....

Reg- they are both bought & paid for.Current intention is to go down in a couple of weeks, dolly the blue one back - stuffed full of the relevant spares from the scrap beige one - which will then get weighed in .So -its a splendid opportunity to scavenge whatevers needed for your 14.Deafening silence so far tosh - let me know-even if its just a 'wanted' list.I really dont want to throw away anything- that you subsequently need.

Nice one Mr. B. Glad it's being rescued by someone who isn't going to "hit it with the stick" and pour paint stripper over the bonnet. :D And maybe the spares car will give Reg the impetus he needs to finally get his back on the road...

This is excellent news! Sorry, not been on the site much in the last couple of weeks... Can't see the pics from work but obviously 'I'm in' :D:D PS: have I missed anything re the MkI Ritmo? Also what happened to that Simca 1100 VF1 / Talbot 100 van which I was also highly excited about, is that now in your collection?

S' ok. You've a week or 2 to sort out your needs on the 14.If you want to learn, take a day out to get mucky- you'll know your car much better when you've the liberty of''amending'' a scrapper to get the bits needed. Mistakes wont matter there.Ritmo is still in France. I'm not allowed to travel that far at pres, although I've tentatively pencilled in Mon 8th March (for a day trip -medics allowing).1100 is here - out back. Bodyshell is cleaned up, 60% welded (won't glue it up in the rain..) period slotmags fitted-original rims binned.Heads been off, skimmed & returned, carb cleaned out, waterpump replaced (- solid, with 28yr old Barrs leaks), alternator replaced & brackets fabricated (nothing there!). New starter purchased & en route (-original works off car, not on!).Fuel tank out-jet washed clean, new outlet welded in (original goosed) & will return when weather prevails.Doorhandles/hinges freed, one winder & lock mechanism sorted. Wiper motor overhauled, new period arms/blades on it & working.Electrics midway- very little worked. Distributor overhauled - new points/plugs,leads/rotor condenser etc etc etc.Brakes 70% overhauled (cylinders & hoses, one metal pipe)but still need a m/cylinder (-unfortunately my Ebay purchase is the wrong diameter). Currently looking at an overhaul if I cant source one soon.Rad's been out & steamcleaned -some hoses replaced, some to do.Prob a load more- just cant remember.Spent yesterday pm/evening stripping my 18 Estate-preparing for the Fuego turbo running gear thats sitting beside it. Deep joy..

Hey R14 pervs, I've got a set of Amils which I think must be for a 14 if they're any good to you. They're actually new unused ones but not mint due to years of storage. Tidy enough though. I paid £50 for them thinking they were for a 5 but they don't fit as the bolt pattern is slightly different. It's not the bigger R15/16/17 pattern so I'm giessing maybe R14?

Hey Ed - Those alloys are fab! Were these babies still at AC Williams when you were there? At first I thought they were alloys - but perhaps sets of four wheel trims? Either way - they represented the future in 1976.

I don't remember seeing those but then I never looked through the R14 stuff. There were some similar boxes which were definately wheel trims. There was a hell of a lot of R14 stuff there.

I am so pleased to see these two getting taken care of by probably the UK's leading R14 experts!I always liked these, although I havent seen one on the road since about 1986, A guy near our old house had a brown (Metallic Beige) one. I remember the tailgate was held togehter with gaffer tape and the overall body and paint was pretty ropey. Went nicely though, was pretty quiet as it drove past.

Thanks Ed.Yes-interested, dependant on what its actually like once I get it home.I'll measure the stud pattern then too- I didnt realise there were 3 variations of Renault 3 stud pcd? Why? just -so bl**dy unnecessary. It means I cant take spare rims - just in case...

I would have thought that the 14 has a Citroen/Peugeot stud pattern, as most of the mechanicals are shared with the 104/LNA/VisaSo may be worth taking some Citroen 3 stud rims if you have some..

Would be good if you could get some kind of restoration thread going, be great to see the progress of your R14 MrRegieRitmo.Well done on the save 8)

There were no end of R14 bits but the boxes pictured are wheel trims. My mate has bought all the R14 bits from AC Williams. There were some alloys but not suspected as R14 fitment.Do the std wheel bolts fit the Amil alloys? :?

Does he have some kind of parts store or something? What kind of bits are we talking about?

Mainly mechanical and electrical parts but also some glass and plenty of genuine exhausts. There are a few panels and subframes etc.He has a store and is building a shed to house them all when the weather improves. As you have his direct e mail address Regie, why don't you contact him direct with your needs and he'll let you know if he has any of what you are looking for.

Ahh, is this Keith with the mint R14? That explains it! Did he hoover up all the parts to prevent them getting binned or did he have to cough up quite a lot for them? I would have been interested to see what they had but having struggled to come up with the money for some genuine front wings, headlamps, rear light bases & an indicator back in the summer, these suppliers of NOS parts always want a king's ransom for them & I simply can't meet that when I have plenty of other outgoings to cover! But obviously they've gone to a good home so that's good to know. I have to ask though, has he bought the parts as a stockpile for his own vehicle or is he open to offers on stuff? I can't think of anything specific right now, especially as I'll shortly be hopefully pillaging that scrap R14 in Gloucestershire, but maybe in the future if I need something? :)

Yep it is Ken with the MkII R14 that has featured on the French Pear forum and indeed on autoshite. :D:D He has bought the job lot from Williams. Chris the storeman said any part now for R14s is his and is piled up awaiting collection. He has taken three car loads away already. Yes he is open to offers on any part, unless he needs it for his. If you have lost his details then PM me for his e mail address.

Oh, Ken not Keith! Ken, if you're reading this, I apologise! I should still have his details as we exchanged emails & I've never cleared out my inbox so they should still be there. :)
