I'll keep the yapping to a minimum & let the pictures do most of the talking.

Arrived at Nigel's bright & early, acknowledged one or two items of tat I'd not seen before - a trip to Nigel's is like a whole tat spotting mission in itself! 8)

and a couple I've seen before;

Posted Image

Posted Image

The scene that greeted us on arrival;

Posted Image

Blue TL to head to a new life on the South coast

Posted Image

Gold GTL to head to that motorway in the sky after being stripped on site

Posted Image

Posted Image

already devoid of light units, pillaged & placed in the blue one for safe keeping... (yes those are rust flakes gathered on top of the bumper!)

Posted Image

Pete's pickup

Preparing the blue TL for it's journey south

Right, at this point I've worked out from the order of the pics that I switched cameras....possibly to preserve my mobile battery, I'm not sure!

:?

Anyway, fully loaded up now with parts from the gold car;

more random shot's of Scooby-Pete's pickup;

Posted Image

Posted Image

Posted Image

all pumped up & ready to go, awaiting hitch up to the Scooby for pulling out of it's boggy resting place, where it possibly sat since 1999 / 00!

Devoid of everything savable & easily removed;

Excellent pics! Could you not have taken the bootlid from the gold one?

Unfortunately the inside edges of the lid were very brown & crispy like over done batter! A light prodding revealed the underside to be thinner than paper...EDIT: besides I really don't think we had any way to bring something that big back unless we lashed it onto something!

Fantastic stuff there fellas, glad at least one of them might see the road again one day. Too bad the Gold is far too gone to save, A Gold Renault 14 is one of those cars on my 'must own list'

My Dad had a Gold coloured Renault 14TL (CAW995T) when I was a tot, he sold it to get a mk1 Sierra. I've not even seen a Ren 14 in the metal for at least 20+ years.

Good luck with the cars.

The number plates are still on it as far as i know but the rac badge is in the back of my truck lol...as for picture postcards shes got so much crap in that house i wouldnt know where to look...got to pop down soon tho for a cuppa,pics of annythin in particular?

Pete - in terms of postcards, the older the better, but anything. UK, foreign, subjects, anything ... Seriously, if you find some, I can pop round. If they're interesting, I will pay real money for them.Also like pre 1940s photo albums. If you ever see a bright yellow smart roadster in the area, that's me. Especially on Cirencester Road and Minchinhampton.

Trigger95% of all postcards are worth pretty much nothing but of the other 5%, they range from £1-10,000 each. A quid gets you a card like a seaside comic, £10k gets you a card sent from the Titanic on her last stop before the iceberg.I have both types at home.

£10k for a postcard! :shock: Christ!, My dad has a stack of old postcards at home somewhere from the turn of the 1900's that i keep telling him to ebay but he can't remember where they are, there's at least 200 of them!.He also has a collection of the old seaside joke cartoon postcards as well, I've got a few upstairs but from the 60's or 70's i think but they are just european ones.

The £10k one is sent by someone who died on the Titanic - I bought it for £24 because I knew what I was looking at. It had already been through an auction in Cornwall as well as another dealer before I bought it.The 60s and 70s ones that are worth money are ones of things like service stations (yep, they do exist), unusual aircraft and airport views as well as nice car adverts and ship/space postcards
