Is it a SEAT Alhambra?

Looks more like a VW sharan :D

I thought the only two petrol engine options were the V6 and leakotec?

For the first two years you could get the 8v 115bhp 2-litre (GR8 4 Mk3 Astras) in the boggo "Edition Select" spec, which is what this one is. Probably the most reliable engine to go into the Omega, I can just imagine the acres of space around the unit in the engine bay. And no bloody rocker cover gasket leaks either! Spannering bliss. An ideal motor for someone who wants to upgrade from a Vectra 1.6 8v Envoy.

I was OMGing myself at the Espaz. Until (i) I got to the bit about the spazzed HG and (ii) I showed it to the keeper of the purse who said NOOOOOOOO.

You should have bought mine. I thought it had a spazzed HG but in fact it didn't, and it was a third of the price of that one.

Just the job for a trip up to Uncle Monty's

I'd also love to restore all the non-visible areas on this, then roll up at Jag club meets year after year with the body slowly getting worse. When anyone asks when I'm going to sort it out, I shall just stare blankly at them, then laugh nervously and back away.

I fairly often fanatasize about doing exactly that, a ratty old mark two is one of the best cars in the world. I would drive around with my mate Tommy quoting the entirety of Withnail & I (which we can do, and have done more than once) and chain smoking roll-ups. Heaven.

That Jag is utterly fantastic, wonderful

1981 Vauxhall Astra 1200S L

Very early model, Would it have the boot rather than a hatch?, Says it only has 4200 miles on it.

That Astra is great, I reckon it might be the saloon one, I seem to remember seeing saloons on an X plate before. Cant be many earlier than that left now?

I can see Mr. Welfare getting excited by that. (and Mr. Cubicle getting annoyed because I haven't deleted the picture)

IF YOU RESTORE THIS HL WITH THE BITS AND PIECES AS I SUGGEST IN GREEN MALLARD... WITH FRESH SUBFRAME AND POWDER COATED TRAILING ARMS AND OCCURE TRIM... I WILL IN 3 YEARS TIME BY HER BACK OFF YOU..FOR AT LEAST £3K !!!(IF ITS DONE RIGHT)

Righto so basically you're gonna pay me £1800 to restore this car, that you've never got round to putting a spanner on, to a standard dictated by you, and to your dream spec including a full respray and interior refit to your colour choice??? Hmm where do I sign :roll:

To be fair he's got a lot of top-notch spare parts mind you.
