I thought the only two petrol engine options were the V6 and leakotec?

For the first two years you could get the 8v 115bhp 2-litre (GR8 4 Mk3 Astras) in the boggo "Edition Select" spec, which is what this one is. Probably the most reliable engine to go into the Omega, I can just imagine the acres of space around the unit in the engine bay. And no bloody rocker cover gasket leaks either! Spannering bliss.An ideal motor for someone who wants to upgrade from a Vectra 1.6 8v Envoy.

I fairly often fanatasize about doing exactly that, a ratty old mark two is one of the best cars in the world. I would drive around with my mate Tommy quoting the entirety of Withnail & I (which we can do, and have done more than once) and chain smoking roll-ups. Heaven.

What I like about these, is the fact that BL equipped them with a supa handy swage line just above the sills, for you to use as a natural border when slapping on underseal over the sills. Brilliant!
