It does, thanks, means it won't be the same one. That was HWM 457F, a 1500 Super that arrived in about September 1967.

that US Spec Crapi is strangely appealing.

I love the upside-down quarter glass window on those Cougars. It's even the superb early model with the awkward headlights! What a machine.

I was trying to work out how that translated to "I would hit it"

I'd hit her in the middle.

Where did you get that shot of Hirst? He looks like he's presenting a programme called 'Beige Villains' on Discovery Turbo.

I really ought not to read this thread at work. I have been having much LOLling at the Hit It captions to the bemusement of my colleagues but the Hirst one had my sandwich all over the screen.

Not in a hurry to get somewhere? Got a load of things to put in the boot? Fancy a nice collection of oil leaks on your new block-paving drive?

Step this way, sir - we have just the thing for you. This fine diesel 109

!CDj,N4g!mk~$(KGrHqJ,!jIE0HI2lV(UBNPCL6P0kg~~_3.JPG

1980 with a Perkins diesel engine, lots of suspect rust, what's not to like?

Posted

Or if you're in a bit more of a hurry, I can recommend a fine Stage 1 V8 like this one. Land Rover knew the V8 was too powerful for the chassis and brakes so they put restrictors in the inlet manifold; it reduced peak power to 90bhp at about 3500rpm and peak torque at about 1500rpm. This did not struggle on hills.

I had the restrictors taken out of mine and half a mile after leaving the garage I joined a roundabout. The gap in traffic was a bit tight so I floored the throttle as usual and almost wheelied across the roundabout onto the verge the other side. Objectively still not really fast but it would certainly pass 80mph on the motorway in overdrive top.

If you want coil springs, power steering and a (slightly) more modern diesel, you pay through the nose.

!CDMqfQwB2k~$(KGrHqR,!loEz+5f)0TcBNNwZkY9ew~~_3.JPG

There's barely room past the chequerplate to put the ONE LIFE, LIVE IT!! stickers

rust on the chassis and bulkhead

Fair enough, you're not expecting a minter for this money I'm sure

The floor has been repaired with steel plates. It has a cracked windscreen and the spare wheel is punctured

okaaaaay, sounds like it might have had bodging earlier in its life. Perhaps not such a good buy then?

On the plus side it has a great roof-rack and the interior is in remarkably good condition for a vehicle of this age

Thank Christ for that

The First Picture is a picture taken which was to be sent off to a car magazine which never actually got sent in the end
The Corsa has been in numerous shows and worked on by several modification companies in the Midlands. NOW it is your chance to own it.
Alessio 17" Spider Alloys (First Corsa to have them on at the time)

Next time I sell a car I'll include similar pointless information.

"The first picture was taken to send off to an artist who was going to commission a colouring book aimed at 4-7 year olds and contained hatchbacks of the 1990s, but when I woke up sober I realised it was a terrible idea so we didn't follow it through"

"This car has probably been worked on by a couple of VW dealers in the South Yorkshire area at some time, I'm sure you don't give a fuck. If you want, you can probably buy the car off me providing you have enough money"

"This car was the first mk2 golf to have Nankang tyres fitted, that I know of, but then again I don't go around checking. They are almost bald now though because the tracking is miles out and I like to do wheelspins because it makes me feel alive"

What are YOUR favourite Autotrader search terms? I have a fondness for "automatic", "under £1,000", "leather" and "effectively uninsurable despite an unblemished driving record and 497-year NCB". On that basis, here are some bargain beauties that I CANNOT AFFORD TO OWN, FFS.

media?id=1559921381

The price? £294, of course.

I defy any red-blooded harbourmaster to survey this £595 beauty without renting his man-bags asunder.

media?id=1559930014

£895, 75k, FSH. I'd hit this and keep hitting it until the authorities intervened.

media?id=1552422539

Wow me up good, daddy! £695, 79k, big MOT... AUTO DIESEL WIN ON WHEELS.

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/ ... ?logcode=p

media?id=1559868994

Surely not bad for £495. Why, to the London-based motorist not blessed with off-street parking, that's almost four months' TPFT! Cock-cakes.
