I wouldn't. His inability to spell or use a comma correctly makes me feel physically sick.

I would be happy if that dyane ute came to live at my house. What's the other flatbed thing pictured with it in pic #12??Datsun? Simca? Autobianchi?? I just don't know.

Its definately a reliant rebel - my guess is that its been converted to Mini/metro fwd running gear you can just about see the side exit exhaust coming out from beneath the rear cab .

BTW the tin snail pick up is still down as a 3 door hatchback, so might be a bit problematic at MOT time. Do they have a separate chassis? If not this would be favourite for the DVLA to come knocking about the much talked about BIVA (which I am not too impressed with). Normally I would say MOT and drive it, but the pick up conversion is soooo obvious it only takes a glance from across the road to see it's been radically altered.

Seen this in CCW?

No problems Fred. Dyanes have a separate chassis, so you can do what you like with the body. Does need the V5 updating though really.

They're usually a 5 door hatchback, this has 3 doors and a ute bed, so I think it shouldn't be a problem.

I emailed the seller asking a bit more about the pick up with a link to this thread, He's his reply.

Don't worry Mike I was only kidding about being offended...you can't drive cars like this without having a sense of humour.I've been following the forum discussions so here's some info;-The Dyane's V5 was returned to DVLA to change it from a 5-door to 3. I called it a 'utility' but they were happy to still call it a hatchback. Both cars have completely standard chassis and running gear so yes, you can pretty much do what you want with the bodies if the MoT man doesn't deem it dangerous. The Rebel does have a propshaft and rear drive, it's just in shadow. It's running an 850 kitten engine which makes it pretty quick but I've got a 1300 Corolla engine and box in the garage which should squeeze in nicely...And yes, I think it looks pretty shit-hot myself!I'll sort out some more pics soon.

So that's cleared that then!, The Rebel still looks fun though!

That's OK then! I am surprised the DVLA were not too bothered about changing the body style though, I thought that was a hanging offence these days, without a letter from yer mum.....
