http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/MORRIS-MINOR-1000 ... 0518300720

I really quite WANT a crappy old Minor at the minute.

My brother had one years ago, he fitted a radio so he wouldn't get bored waiting for the AA.

On one occasion the speedometer broke so we calculated the speed by timing the mile markers on the M4. I thought we were doing just over 60, but obviously mental arithmetic isn't good when you're jiggled about in a Morris at speed.

When we went past my dad in his (then newish Audi 100) he reckoned we were doing 80+

Rust is the main enemy on these, but have a look on youtube for Tiff Needell drifting one 8)

Rust is the main enemy on these...

A mate of mine from school, dragged me out to look at a 'tatty' one, at Cochrane's Mini Centre in Glasgow, years ago. He was going to rod it, had a Metro Turbo motor lined up too.

I got down for a look underneath, and very easily put my hand thro' the floor. Gorrilla mechanic not best impressed, and advice to mate along the lines of 'wellllll...it's your call.' We walked away.

That one's very late so I think it's 1100cc, for even speedier motoring!

The indicator warning light is on the end of the indicator stalk, and it lights up green. On my brother's car I think someone had replaced the 1/4 watt bulb with a brake light bulb so in the darkness the whole interior and everyone in it, lit up green.

Farinas use the same bulb on a stalk. Don't know if Minors do it but on the A60s it is linked to the headlight switch so that when you turn the lights on the stalk flashes more dimly so it doesn't light everything up quite as much at night. Clever folk these 60's BMC engineers!

My pre-Farina has such an indicator arrangement. I'll have to conduct experiments... (I've only driven it in the dark once...)

Is that what they told you? What really happens is there’s so much voltage drop with the headlights on that everything gets dimmer. Like the headlights get dimmer when you put the wipers on, that well known safety feature

That minging Rolls is QUAL.

I would like that. Preferably with a nice smelly diesel in it. 8)

It's about 2 miles from my brothers house. Nnnnnnnghh.

A scruffy cheap roller can't be bad, can it? What could possibly go wrong?

Slightly ambiguous listing, but if that comes with a full ticket, it's well cheap at the £300 BIN and ULTRA VALU if you bid a bit less. Ooooooooooh.

Someone please get on it because I can't.

It's not that far away is it? I'll admit that 50 miles is considered local here.

Get on it Trig, I don't think you can go wrong at that price.

50 miles is 45 minutes for you, Milf... that journey is aboit 3 hours each way (or 6 on a friday afternoon)

I think the south east of England want ssome kind of atomic bomb to rid itself of 2/3 of the population.

240 mile round trip (4 1/2 hours) seems a long way for a £300 car.
