For real? No messin? should at least mean they'll rot like a Fiat should.

Galvanised :P

Panda platform is 8 years old now and I've not seen a single instance of a non-crash damaged Panda having any rot :) See loads of newer previous model Ka's rusting though!

This is stunning, It's also one of my dream cars in the best colour, I was watching it on ebay last week until it got removed, It's now reappeared again but with clearer photos and a new seller, i wonder how much he paid for it?, It looks like alls he's done is polish it!.

Back on track, don't really know what to think about this.

I would, could and should. And I love 6 cylinder Bristols. I think the owner has the owner's contingent down wrong. Patchway ran a continuous service \ improvement cycle and the later 400 series cars from the 406 on used large American V8s anyway, so the seller isn't as iconoclastic as he thinks he's being. From the looks of the [frankly shit] description in enormous lower case, it sounds like he's stuffed a big block Chevy in there - but from the cubic capacity listed it could be anything from a Ford Cobra Jet to a hot LA series Chrysler. No doubt the original chassis has been chopped up to accept the new running gear and it's probably running an American solid rear axle and a front clip from whatever steroid barge donated its engine. With some tidying up and attention to detail I think it could be fabulous. God knows what drag class it would run in though - I don't understand the NHRA listings, nor their UK equivalents.

Heart says yes, bank balance disagrees.

I wonder what LJKS would think?

I can hear him from all the way over here, spinning in his grave over the desecration of a six-in-line Bristol (used to read him in Car back in the 70s). I'm with you though Jon, later models had Chrysler V8s anyway so no problem.

Having given it some thought, V8 in that Bristol is wrong and I'd sooner have a K series. The 403 is a lightweight and well balanced, so that 1000kg of pigiron ballast is going to get it stuffed on the first bend, the slam job is a bad idea, had stance already innit, and not exactly endowed with a generous amount of suspension travel to start with, it's torsion bars at the rear, so easy to put right but the front should be a single leaf setup like the HA Vivas, so god knows what's been done there, the close spacing of the wheelnuts looks original, the wheels aren't but same PCD as Audi / Merc / VW anyway, the bulkhead, floor and probably chassis are butchered so the cars bolloxed. Now my brains going, the correct engine / box would be insane, 10K minimum and probably as much again to rebuild. Saab 99 / 900 are a similar size, how rigid would the Saab be with the body removed and the Bristol one dropped on? The Bristol body is ally, but under the skin is a cage of small steel tubes which are the structure, should make it easy to mate up with an alternative floorpan, the sills on both cars are recessed for the doors to fit, front and rear track quite similar, but the Saab wheelbase is about a foot short. Relocate the mounting points maybe, needs looking into with a tape measure. Bristol 2 litre Turbo! Imagine it. OK, FWD, but those old Saabs didn't handle too bad, no torque steer, decent enough feel to them, if I had the time and the space etc.

Quite agree - it should be a V10

You're right, it needs a bigger V8. 10.5 litre Keith Black Hemi or a Donovan ally job. :)

I'm tired of liberal dickheads on the internet telling other people (who they deride as "capitalists" because they themselves have failed at making a living) to shut up or find another forum or demand banning. More freedom, not less, is the way forward. But the shutter-uppers, bookbanners, burners, and tattle-tales all seem to be narcissistic longhair frumpy flower children these days, spouting off against "the man" and industrious people. Feck em. I've grown tired of sitting on my hands being told to allow them their yap time, whilst restraining my own words. No more.

Have you seen my Polish bride (that's in eastern Europe, BTW, Tayne..)? Steal 500 from me, and you have her and the Winchester to contend with. Woe unto the ja that should try it...

^^Think that's the Trooper model with the pattern of roll-over issues. Guy behind me put one in the ditch when he couldn't negotiate a 90-degree turn at the same speed as my old IH Travelall Cornbinder 1010 with my race car and trailer attached FFS!

Bizarrely, they only seem to have that reputation in the States. I don't know if the suspension settings were different over there or what, but the two I've owned would both go sideways before they'd fall over, despite leaning like a sapling in a hurricane at the slightest hint of a bend. I like those Troopers a lot, at least the ones with the old 3.1D engine - pretty much bullet-proof, brilliant for towing and about the only large (ish) 4x4 with a decent turning circle. They do like a drink though, even in diesel form.
