Is he mental? there's no way a self-built replica will be worth 35k! It wouldn't take much more than that to buy a pukka one, and you can buy them brand new ready to go for (I think) a lot less

£10k ready to go from Andy Carter - of course, you can get a Triumph Tina 98cc version (as standard on the last few real ones), a twist and go scooter engine or a DKW scooter engine.

This is currently on carandclassic.co.uk priced at £11500! I was a bit shocked at the price to be honest despite it's claim to be the third oldest surviving 'unrestored' Mini. It's a complete basket case!

Does it's heritage warrant this sort of money?

 

Any mini experts out there?

It doesn't seem like a basket case to me, all the panels seem okay, bit of surface rust is all. If it's the original interior /glass/ reg then I can see it being 'worth' that to someone. Once restored it would go for a hell of a lot more. But yes, it is ridiculous.

Incidentally, my friend has one of those wheel trims on his LDV 400 for some reason. So if you ever need one...

The boot spoiler is standard on the 220 SLi. Its drilled in so you cant just pop it off.

 

I spend 3 hrs/day driving my 220 and every time I get out of it I look forward to getting back in. I love it!

I'm really tempted by this obscure special edition Metro Gala... are there any others left?

 

They made them in Moonraker Blue or Cashmere Gold (I think) to celebrate the 500,000th Metro, someone on a Metro forum has a gold one but I've never seen a blue one, it must be mega rare.

 

Trouble is, some twat's removed the engine, presumably to put in a wanky Mini or something, it's miles away and I've got no money. It does look tidy though, and it's got loads of MOT left.
