dont know if it can be done in this case (again I dont know enough about carbs to say if mine is salvageable! but I think it depends on if the butterfly valve has done any other damage by being lose and able to run into the carb wall if that makes sense?)

Can't you just send the carb you've got to a local engineering company and get them to re-bush it? Even if they have to make another spindle, it's bread and butter work for them, surely it's not insurmountable?

Possibly a daft idea but….. throttle body and fuel injection from motorbike? Buy a scrapper and use ECU as well.

That is an idea I'd toyed with, especially given the TBi kits can be got pretty cheaply these days.  Though how reliable it would be given they are Direct From China No-Name specials for the most part would be the question.  Also how much tweaking is possible via software?  Given the target here is more mid-rsnge torque than top end power like on a bike, you'd definitely want to be able to juggle things.  Which is why grabbing a factory system off a scrap bike and convincing it to fit would give me pause as it's likely tuned for a very different sort of power delivery.

I could re-bush it in engineering shop here - it's worn in other places, and the acc pump is seized/ragged in place. Been soaking for 2 weeks now....

just asked Big al how things are with fishing out a carb and he has informed he is currently taking 3 to bits to see if they are any good or not

which im very thankful/pleased for

as I was expecting knowing my luck to end up with a 2nd carb with the exact same issues as the original one, so unable to even combine the 2 into 1! LOL

I do note that it is a Weber 32ICS3 from an earlier Model 70 then REV, (REV has a 32ICS10T) I know a 32ICS3 will *run* a later 32ICS10T Model 70 engine TWC has a 1976 engine with an earlier 32ICS3 carb from TWC's original early engine, but I also know that TWC is a bit down on performance and I dont know if thats down to a potential carb miss match or just other factors

so I hope the same does not plague REV!

The suffix usually denotes jetting variations and so on. So shouldn't be too much of a concern. 

Bluntly, it can't be worse than the remnnants of the carb on it ..

For buzzing around 20mph and 30mph limits, squirting in with a squeegee bottle would work just as well as a carb..

I went on holiday because Easter and I'm a religious sort.

However, air/fuel mixing device fun.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Lid soaked - nice and gentle and wehey .

35 min later and some slooooow, gentle persuasion - one piston unseized from the accelerator pump chamber. Eventually. 

 

 

 

I'll take that as a win. Esp on a 40 + year old carb.

Little bit of brake cleaner and some rag-onna-stick™

GT85.

Brake fluid.

Piston gently re-introduced with special tool.

'Slow, skill shot ahead'*

its very awesome to see the replacement carb is so far playing ball! even tho big al had done his best to make 1 good one from 3, I was still a bit worried about the serviceability of it given where they had originated from 

so I am very pleased to see you where able to get its accelerator pump working, and hopefully the rest of it too!

I for one can't wait to see this on the road and the beginnings of the actual 'Touring Adventures of Lbf', 

Over the past couple of years, I've read shit loads and now know so much about the theory of inco-cars. Seeing one on the road, in daily use doing ordinary 'an car' things and particularly other proper, long distance adventures is something I'm really looking forward to reading about.

Where are you planning on driving it to first?
