That 1100 is a beaut Dicky, can't blame you for driving it about, they're just so much fun :D

In other news I bought a small plastic glob at a model railway show at the weekend, after a bit of restoration its now a purple 1100 shaped glob of plastic in 1/150 scale :D

Got the Mondeo back on Saturday.

Today someone else wants to lend it.

I wouldn't mind, but it actually drives ok other than needing something doing regarding gear selection occasionally!

Just put this sticker in The Volvo's rear window. GR9 for nostalgic purposes and convincing young people that you bought your car from a fictional TV character:

s640x480

"Take a look at this lovely Volvo estate, sir. Owned by a colour-blind Jewish fella in Finchley who never drove it in the dark or in the rain. Now, come on, sir, would I lie to you?"

:D

got a shite collection roadtrip lined up this weekend, from Surrey to Preston (and back). it only cost £8.50 on the national express to get there!

the 220 miles back should be a breeze.

Water pump fail. That's put the brakes on the BX cambelt change. That and me losing my 22mm socket. If I ever owned one anyway. Can't remember...

Have been in bed feeling shite (man flu) for most of the day, but forced myself to get up and do something constructive. Fail.

I shouldn't think so. But then again, there will always be plenty of people who'll get taken in by £50 resprays, £10 wheel trim sets, Feu Oranges, tyre paint and the patter of dodgy salesmen ;)

Pawnote: The sticker in The Volvo is a repro (by public demand); I remember seeing the original stickers on cars in the 1980s, but I could never find anyone selling them. One would have looked GR11 in my dad's 1981 Metro :)

There's a manual Porsche 928 for sale on ebay in Edinburgh. I really want it but I'll never sell the BMW in time damn damn damn.

Yip MikeD's selling one. It's a nice one too but this is more in my what could possibly go wrong price range, it's a manual and it's just down the road.

Bought a new T25 camper. Need to get round to swapping the wheel over from the current one then punting it on.

Only done 37K and is LPG and drives in everyway better than the current Caravelle, mainly because the 1.9 petrol is more responsive that the 1.9 dizzle.

Drove it back from South London (almost 2 hours... ) via south circular. Needs a service as it hesitates low down but I hoping it is just plug or somefink. Overall money well spent I think

Rover Sterling has been towed away to be taken for repairs, again. New garage is being cleared out for me next week, so I'll also be having my other new Sterling towed there soon as the garage is vacated.

Mrs9000 now owns an E46 BMW 316i in Titan silver.

I have driven and can confirm it has the optional equipment indicators fitted.

Not the quickest thing I have ever driven but quite a pleasant drive none the less, should keep her of my back for a while.

I've just waved goodbye to the Saab - possibly the most sensible car I've ever owned. Taken away to Devon by a very nice chap who's of this parish, so hopefully there'll be continuity. My last Saab certainly seems to be hanging around still! (green 900 owned by HillmanImp at the moment I think).

Takes the pressure off selling the Range Rover. I could still do with flogging it, but the thing is somehow making me quite fond of it, despite its foibles.

I bought mine from the company in the first link. Arrived really quickly and is spot-on quality-wise :)

Bit of an odd request here, but does anyone have any Reg Vardy dealer stickers? The one on my Micra is determined to peel itself off the rear window and I'd like one to replace it.

Nah, he part exchanged it for my Audi and I passed it on to a guy in Birmingham to smoke about in. Remember? You said you were glad it had gone to a saab enthusiast?

Onto other Swede headlines. I have just returned from collecting a 1979 (T) Volvo 244 automatic from Birmingham. A guy appeared on the Volvo forum saying he wished to donate his recently MOT failed Volvo to a Volvo fan rather than just ring the scrap man. I was looking for a donor to help me convert my 1991 240 estate to an early big-bumper spec so I enquired and it turns out its a car thats local to my parents house, infact I used to walk past regularly and admire it many years ago. It seemed to disappear a while back and I assumed it had been scrapped, i'm glad its survived (just!)

Its a bit tatty with scabby door bottoms but it runs a treat and everything works. I A framed it back home and left the engine running in neutral in an effort to protect the autobox from damage. With it being a car that I have known about for a good few years it seems such a shame to break it up for parts. Its deffo going to need a pair of sills for an MOT (or a few large patches), plus whatever else I can poke a hole in. Gah! decisions decisions!

Nice work, Tim.

Shirley it's worth saving if it's just the sills and little else? Get some pictures up pronto please!
