Speaking purely personally (something not allowed on the blue forum apparently) I can't see how anyone can look at that Triumph and think it looks better now than before is beyond me, he has totally ruined the look and character of it. It was okay with the black bonnet!! If it was a tatty old wreck when he got it it wouldn't seem so bad. The sooner I get the matt black paint off my Maxi the better!

 

I think we need to try some reverse psychology, he says the "haters" spur him on to do more. Why don't we all say how magnifcent it looks, he may respray it white and put the bumpers back on!!

 

I certainly could not bring myself to do that to a well preserved original looking car. But then again each to his/her own I suppose.

I'm owed £112.75 by an agency I went out of my way to help at short notice. The agency are refusing to pay me because the client I was working for fell out with said agency and hasn't paid their bill for my time (About £150+VAT). The days money I'm owed is from four weeks ago last Friday and is now three weeks overdue.

 

I always thought that my contract was with the agency and not the client.

Yeah, I kindof f*cked up. Well I blame wilkinsons. I picked up the satin black, my son went to put it in the basket........typical 2 year old threw it and it splattered over the floor, so I ran back, grabbed a can from the same row....did I check it? No...

I picked up matt black rather than satin and painted the whole car bar the roof and boot....now the car is matt! Nevermind...I'm very happy with it even though I wanted satin!

The black bonnet looked ok, I still remember people doing this in the seventies. A bloke over the road had a White Mk1 Capri and he did the bonnet black which looked ace. I still posted dog shit through his letterbox though.

He's doing some real major changes to the car (more than blackboard paint) as he's turning it into a three door but as it's mega high quality work so no-one brings up the issue of preserving it.

 

I think if it's your car you can do what you like to it but if you make a complete nob of it you should expect people to question it and point and laugh at you.

That's what I did when in the same situation. They don't expect you to turn up in person. After about an hour of being fucked about I got paid. In cash.

The guy is clearly a flange. I know I shouldn't pay any attention to people doing this type of thing to their own cars, but its just too damn funny!

 

When the inevitable happens and the MOT runs out he has to sell it for it's scrap value, should one of us try to save it and return it to standard? I got a massive buzz from replacing the cut springs on my Maestro and refitting standard ones from a scrapyard. Unslamming, its the future!
