Why does he haplessly buy all these projects he can't deal with, is it forum points scoring?

Posted

Tell you what, I'll ask him if/when he turns up.

No reply to PM and he's showing as "offline"

it would seem to be points scoring

i can picture his poor parents shaking their heads everytime he announces hes bought a car

29 years old and totally financially supported by hard working parents

Anyone got Pandaselecta's phone number (or a link to one of his for sale ads) please? He went offline as soon as I replied to his message and he hasn't read the reply.

edit. Sorted, he's back online. He had gone to get the money!

looks likes its all systems go

scary: if you get stuck at the side of the road with a dead V8 (or more likely a dead panda) - ring me at home - i will bring you tea and sympathy, but i only have one spare seat for the return trip

Ta mike. Your number is always in my phone... Don't worry too much about a second spare seat, just take some of the junk out of the boot

PS is a nice bloke, fellas. Ease up on 'im, please.

I agree, this all seems a bit harsh. He seems nice enough on the A30/35 forum. And I know I'm guilty (as are many others on here) of buying too many projects we can't handle!

Actually - you could get pinto powered Sierra's in '92 - whitevanman had a K reg one till recently. The last sierras were real parts bin specials and they used up whatever engines etc they had left - so a fair few azuras went out the door with 1.6 pintos installed.

This isn't really the right thread for this but i can't decide where else to post it.

I've just been reading this restoration thread from RR, The chap has owned this Granada Coupe since 2003 and so far "restored" it about 5 times, he even painted it in stonechip once and then blamed the paint for it tearing when someone keyed it.

I dunno, at least he didn't give up half way through and send it round the oval or sell it fopr 'spares only'

Granted, not sure why he didn't finish the welding the first (or second) time it was down to bare metal but it looks like at some point in the future the job'll be a good'un and he'll have a nice straight Granny coupe out of it. Needs to lose the wanky wheels though, natch

I bought my Porsche off him, he's a really nice fellow. Not fair with all the snide comments.

maybe you should follow his antics more closely, then you might understand the dismay and headshaking his actions bring about

Well, I'm home, and alive, the cxar made it and PandaSelecta is a nice chap. A bit odd yeah, and he buys some godawful cars for no good reason but (Boll0x and Autofive, I'm looking at you...) he isn't the only one who does that, is he?

I asked him why, like I said I would. His answer was "because I can, and because I won't be able to (drive a v8 station wagon) forever, so I might as well do it now"

I know it's a completely different type of Scimitar, but I'm surprised that you didn't try to get the engine out of it...:lol::lol:

I want some new HT leads for my Rover. You wouldnt think that would be a big deal, but its too much for Rimmer bros, Euro car parts and smithsons in Stoke. theres a load on ebay but they are either £50+ (MEGA +20BHP SILICON DIAMOND POWA TECH LEADS MICHAEL SCHUMACHER) or some unspecified make, which I suspect might be some gaffer with a reel of silicon wire cutting it to lenght then posting it in a jiffy bag.

I always find Smithsons to be very helpful.

However there’s a proper old school Unipart agent nearby – Jim Fisher Parts, Watkin Street, Fenton, ST4 4PF 01782 844278. If you go early on a weekday morning you can marvel at local teenage mothers walking their kids to school in pink slippers, kicking the dog shit encrusted pavements as they go.

Had it not fallen off the back of a lorry?
