Just caught up with your news Trigger. Like everyone else I feel for you and your wife, I hope that it all turns out well eventually.

Hillman - It was only very early days, about 3-4 weeks i think, I dread to know how people feel who lose babies 5-7 months into it, Just makes it worse as my wife can't conceive children without help, The first IVF treatment never worked but this second one seemed to, It was the first positive result we had since started 5 years ago.

Sorry to hear of your news Trig, keep on keeping on eh? difficult to say anything that may be of any help but I'm sure most of us here belive you'll both get what you want one day, some things in life really make you value it rather than worry about material objects.

Hope it works out for you both.

Just caught up, Trigger. Not a lot I can say, I know (been there, at the 4-5 month stage) but better luck next time. What's meant to be, will be, and you'll be over the moon when it works.

Thank you again guys for your kind comments, They have been really helpful. :D, She seems bit more chipper tonight so hopefully things will be fine again soon, We still have one more go with the IVF, If that done's work it will be adoption i guess.

Anyway this is the grumpy thread so i expect you all to start posting your grumps now, however trival they are!

Moving house. It takes forever to pack up all my model cars, and most days I just can't be bothered, but I know in the next couple of weeks I'm going to have to do it.

Spotted this walking to the shops

How........how do you manage that!?

She's adamant she's lost it but she don't tent to think the worse all the time.

That sounds grim, it certainly puts my clutch problems into perspective, hope the outcome is good for you both.

By avoiding the car overtaking the bus pulling out of the bus stop.

I want some new HT leads for my Rover. You wouldnt think that would be a big deal, but its too much for Rimmer bros, Euro car parts and smithsons in Stoke. theres a load on ebay but they are either £50+ (MEGA +20BHP SILICON DIAMOND POWA TECH LEADS MICHAEL SCHUMACHER) or some unspecified make, which I suspect might be some gaffer with a reel of silicon wire cutting it to lenght then posting it in a jiffy bag.

On a simiar grump the rear disks for my 300ZX-based S12 upgrads are like £89 'pair. :?

"tuner" brands with OMG TEh STOPS are more like £120! £60 for an unremarkable vented disc!

^^^Watanabe will be along shortly to recount his Citroen C4 rear disc price anecdotes...:lol:

Is this on that big-black-supa-kool-wagon-thing???

A link back to the sale would be appreciated!

Smiled today when I saw a tidy K Reg Sierra in white, lowered and a bit "scene" looking on what looked like black enamelled Revolutions.

The car was debadged, but on the tailgate was a red Intel style "Pinto Inside!" sticker. Now, is there a movement afoot to retro-fit late twin-cam engined Sezzers with Pinto lumps, or next time should I wave him down and politely remind him that his sticker is wrong and should actually say "I4 Inside!"?

Or, in '92 was it still possible to get a Sierra with a Pinto in it INNIT and I'm being a mong at one o'clock in the morning when I should be looking at pr0n like everyone else?

Replied to the Oh NO I can't get it thread with a solution ;)

and no, you couldn't get a pinto sierra in '92.

he's on the spot now, his excuse is now looking even weaker

lets see what happens

educate me Scary, I'm looking in a 1992/3 Ford brochure i got in my Escort here and they list the Sierra as a 1.6 CVH and 1.8 CFi (as well as 2.0 DOHC) what was the 1.8, a CVH as well?.

Posted

Yeah, the 1.8 is a CVH as well. It is worth mentioning that the sierra 1.6 CVH is totally different to an escort/orion CVH, and the 1.8 is unrelated to either one (it's a version of the american 1.9 unit).

Posted

I had an 1800 Sierra once-apon-a-when. Not a bad car really.

I didn't realise the lump was completely unrelated to the FWD applications. I Always thought it'd be fun with RSt bits grafted on.

I'm driving one now, and it's a lovely smooth torquey thing that doesn't deserve it's awful reputation!

^^Fook, you got Speedbird's shitter running?

Wasn't that a twink?

Posted

twink with a blown head gasket, didnt make further than the north circular i recall

has fred still got it?

and where is freebird? you heard from him norm?

I'd have a Sierra, one day, when I have space and time for multiple cars. Carb'd early 2.0 Ghia would be fun, like dads old one,

You just know its going to go pear shaped with that Holden. If he gets it back to base with Scary's help, I predict a maximum of 2 weeks before some daft malady befalls it that he can't sort, or the fuel consumption cripples him, and its back on the FS board for £1500/£1600/£1400/£1000/£2000/£1350/£900 etc etc etc. But most likely is its back up for sale by the original seller in a few days.

Posted

he's trying to put a positive spin on it this morning, i expect "its too big for my garage, so now for sale 1500 quid asking price"

edit: ps has just announced it needs to be collected by 4pm today

Posted

Fred weighged speedy-B's old sierra last year sometime (and then got a request for a white car to destroy on screen... oh well)

I am waiting for a reply from PS. I notice the car is only 135 miles away so I wonder where it is? I was expecting it to be Gatwick last night...
