I'm in much the same boat.  If and when I have to move out of here I'll probably end up living in a camper van for a while - whilst I could technically afford to rent a place like this at full market rates it'd mean no cars, no holidays and beans on toast for tea every day, at least until I get my loans paid off.  Or find a better paid job, but that's a tall order around here with my skill* set.

I have no deposit saved, that's my big issue. I might be able to scrape a 2 bed flat with no parking for a few hundred more than I pay here, but that price goes up every time I look (which isn't often)

Bought the Mrs tickets for bad manners this weekend. Oh look, storm fuckface is coming, so "can I sell them instead".

On the bright side it is sold out, so stuck them on twickets and cross fingers.

Spared jail (I'm guessing) because he has a well known surname up here........

Scots businessman who 'gave impression he could buy freedom' spared jail - Daily Record

Scots businessman who “ gave the impression he could buy freedom”, was proved absolutely right.

How come he was driving an 8 yer old Fiat 500 if he was so successful?

Also, sounds dodgy as fuck. I think HMRC should probably take an interest too.

another job helping my elderly grandparents

never assume a cold tap in a utility room is fed from the mains despite being right next to the kitchen

i made that mistake today

turned off the water, turned off the feed to the hot water cylinder

all going well

then i removed the plastic push fit connector on the cold feed to the tap

cue a very delightful water feature, very similar to a fountain

ah, so it's fed from the cold water tank then

cue lots and lots of swearing, looking for a bucket etc

sprint into the loft and hunt for a valve which i managed to find just behind the tank which stopped the water

i'd done a nice job of making their utility room look like a pond

managed to get it sorted in the end

i'm not a big fan of plumbing i must admit

the question is where the fuck does the pipe that comes from the main stopcock and heads over to the utility go, and what does it feed?

1st rule of plumbing: never assume, test first.

Driving the Mrs car today, spot something fairly big laying in the road, couldn't see what it was.

Couldn't go around it so aimed for the middle and hoped for the best.

BANG! FUCK!!!

Pulled into an entrance at the side of the road accompanied by some awful scraping noise.

Reverse a bit and it is quiet, go forwards and its horrible scraping again. Whatever it is must be stuck underneath.

Stuck a wheel up o the kerb to see if I can get it out. Look underneath the car and there is a massive chunk of  metal on the ground and oil pissing out of a split in the sump.

Fucksticks.

Bugger!  At least you were smart enough to look under the car though.  90% of drivers these days wouldn't have - if they even bothered to stop to retrieve whatever it was rather than just ignoring the noise!

My grump today: I have a bloody cold.  Yes it's only a cold, but I'm bloody miserable.

There's a reason I don't watch television

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cy7kd7g2lxyo

If they can't be bothered to actually get something as simple as that right, why would you want to watch a 'documentary' which is probably also full of inaccuracies.

Like the war films with land rovers.

Idiots

I haz flat tyre in Mrs's car park for 2nd time. So some cunt thinks he has a reserved* space. Nothing on the dashcam unfortunately, as it switches itself off after 5 hours due to piddly smoll c1 battery getting flatish.

I don't get it. Have they shipped all of those English cars to Argentina to film that?

Why not CGI out the mountains?

The main picture in that article isn't from the programme, it's a pisstake made by Snetterton circuit and stuck on their social media in response to what Netflix did!

Fail upon a fail there, BBC!

Or even, oh I don't know, use footage from a racing circuit called SNETTERTON, which frequency does vehicle racing.

Funny that... 🤦

Washing machine packed up. Can’t find our insurance or guarantee for it. 18 months old, probably repairable though. Not the major grump.

Go to laundrette. No parking within eleventy-billion miles. Park up, walk up with 2 big bags of laundry. No attendant so can’t leave for a service wash. No change machine or powder machine so ask shop next door can I have some pound and 50p coins in the change. “Not for the laundrette, we don’t get like the owner”. Eventually after going to several shops got some change, popped home and got the laundry liquid and fabric conditioner I forgot first time. Back at laundrette, the old bag of an attendant was there in her house coat “don’t use laundry liquid in our machines, powder only please” 😵‍💫.

Go back to shop next door for the powder I went to buy earlier.

Washed fine, went to use dryers, £5 of 50ps in each one and the stuff was still damp.

First world problems I know but everone’s crap attitude really hacked me off today.

AO. Can’t find the e-mails anywhere. I’m pretty sure we had this on our D&G plan but only our other white goods are on it.

If it’s only 18 months old but out of guarantee try contacting the manufacture direct (try ceoemail.com). Say how you love their products and have always bought them (as did your parents etc, lay it on thick, you recommend them to friends and family all the time,  lie , they won’t check ), so that’s why you’re so disappointed this time . Then drop hints that you might just go on social media and say how crap they are nowadays.
They might tell you “tough” but chances are you’re get a goodwill repair.

Think I've chipped a tooth. I technically* have an nhs dentist. Except they cancelled my check up in July because "my dentist has left and they'll send another appointment when they've recruited a new dentist". So no doubt it will be we'll fix it when we get a dentist or for only eleventy million pounds we can see you privately today.

I've been in a bad mood all day because at some point while working overnight (not nightshift as such, I just like working at night) I started to get bad pain in the right side of my abdomen. Check the NHS website and it says OMFG APPENDICITIS CALL 111 RIGHT AWAY so I spent 45 minutes in a call queue only to spend 10 minutes talking to a nurse who after going through my symptoms informed me it was just normal pain, whatever that means. What a waste of an hour and a spot in the queue. Spent the whole time waiting absolutely sure I was going to end up in hospital and the inconvenience and discomfort that would entail, especially at this time of year.

That's what she seemed to be implying. However the pain has subsided almost completely now and none has been expelled.

As Terry wogan used to say about the medical adverts, it’s not the trapped wind that’s the problem!
