He's like the "OST" in the above picture.  Pedigree are bred to have this stylish* slope that prematurely knackers their hips.  The Kennel Club, Crufts, &c. have a lot to answer for, the fuckers.

trying to find someone to do a perkins HGF on an otherwise mint montego estate is proving surprisingly hard!

3 separate garages have fobbed me off, including a rover specialist.

i know its a pig of a job etc... but someone must want the work!

I think my 15 year old DC01 has died.  Horrendous smell and noise, still working but far too loud (even without the belt and brush bar fitted) to tolerate.  Poor old thing, had that since I moved into my first place, bought it for £15 from the local tip.

Where about are you? An old acquaintance of mine is THE Perkins (commercial) expert in Britain. Not spoke to him in years but can try and dig contact info out if you like ?

Huw's car seat broke yesterday and we are going on holiday on Saturday.

Fair play to the company they are going to try and get it back to us on Friday starting with arranging a courier to pick it up tomorrow but, argh! Why do these things always happen at the wrong time? Megan's chair broke last year two weeks before we were going away too.

You don't tend to have a spare car seat knocking about.

Back in my day we just used to slide around the back seat of the Mk2 escort, and I'm still here.. ;)

Get a black marker pen and draw a Hoover logo on your torch lens and shine it in the air....Beko will arrive shortly.

Blake has started to exhibit signs of hip failure. He's a German Shepherd (working shape rather than slopey pedigree shape) so it's to be expected but it's really upset me. I know what happens next and I'm not ready for that.

Shit where's the sad dislike button, has he been x rayed to confirm hip dysplacia? If it's the onset he can have pain killers and anti inflammatories and it might be worthwhile taking him swimming and for hydrotherapy, the vet will probably say he's too old to operate.

Here's a bit of info that may help you

I have been offered a full time job where I work, delivering prescriptions. This is good, I love the job, four days at work suits me just fine.

I post this here because the chap who I was initially covering for in June last year, had his operation to sort his bowel cancer last summer, then had a third of his lung removed to sort some more cancer in November, at Christmas his wife died. Now he is having chemotherapy for lung cancer on his other lung.

I don't really want to dwell too much on how cruel the world is. But it is.

The kennel club are cunts, they have fucked up most breeds with the search for their perceived perfection, i for one would never have a slope back german shepherd, all of mine have been straight backed like blaze and touch wood i have never had one that displayed hip problems fair enough I have only had 3 my first one was when I was 5 and i grew up with my first sheps mum that was my parents so 4 if you count her.

I forgot how much fun* it is selling proper low end shit. I've got the Chinese 'ped here, £125, fully/clearly described inc. that the exhaust has snapped in two and is off the bike. Cash on collection, no deliveries, swaps etc

'Whats best price?'

'Can u dilver'

Wil it gt me home?

'cnt gt parts 4 dem wil u do 50

etc, etc etc.

This might be the one I set fire to and smash the remains with a sledgehammer, then post the video on Facebook.

Had 2 German Shepherds

First was wanda, scared me shitless first time i met her,she was a friend of ours dog who said that her old man was beating her up so we let her have our spare room.Went with her to pick up her stuff, didnt know aboutb dog.Sat outside in car with door & boot open and suddenly a rather large gsd jumped in and sat on my lap......

Didnt dare move till she came out and said"Oh you have met Wanda then".

That dog adopted me from that moment, never more than 6 foot from my side, slept on my bed, even followed me into the loo.

Anyway, she had been badly illtreted, burn marks on her face and head,a broken tail, found out that girl had done it so kicked her out and kept dog & i found later that she had been kicked so much that she had to have several ops to fix damage.

Had her about 7 years, she eventually had to be put to sleep because of cancer.

She was a funny old dog, hated other dogs, but loved cats & even washed herself like a cat.

Then came Tagg,13  stone of pure muscle, part Gsd,part Newfoundland, but as soft as shit, never heard her bark or growl.

Fantastic old lady, her back legs went when she was about 8.

My granparents had GSDs for as long as I can remember - always a pair of them, 1 sable and one black. Best. Dogs. Ever.

I fancy getting another dog - would have to be a rescue job though because fuck puppy farms. Problem is when I visit a shelter I always come out in the blackest mood ever seen, having viewed abandoned and mistreated animals. I reckon being cut up on the drive home would result in a news-worthy road rage attack.

Dunno - I have no idea how much longer I will live here so perhaps its unwise to commit to another dog when future plans are so uncertain.

No idea if this has been mentioned but why do smug gits refer to their cars on forums by acronyms with no mention of the manufacturer? There are a lot of "mark 2s" or "240s" out there. Sorry rant over.

^^^ I agree . I know I've said it before but the whole e46 , dc2 , b5 thing annoys the hell out of me . It's a bloody 02 pisswet ffs

Stuck with a dilemma. Ebay twat still claiming to have received a sealed but empty envelope from me. He can escalate his claim to evilbay tomorrow, and they'll probably give him my money back, 'cos ebay.

Said twat is threatening legals if (unlikely) ebay tell him to do one. Twat also trying it on with paypal simultaneously.

Part of me is thinking fuck it and pay him off nine quid now. Then get my moneys worth back in argos books in the post. Other part of me hates thieves.

What would autoshite do?

Posted

he's not going to do any 'legals' so don't worry about that. Clearly eBay are gonna find in his favour and give him your money and that'll be the end of it.

If by some miracle they don't, have a good old laugh at his expense then Argos him into next week

Posted

Court action for nine quid? I agree with Bol, it will cost him vastly more than that to bring a case and by the time he has lost his case he will have court fees, his and your legal expenses and all kinds of other shit to pay for.

I remember Parking Eye (private parking firm) took a guy to court over a £16 quid ticket. They won the case and got their £16 and were judged winners. However they had a £6000 legal bill to pay so surprisingly they don't bother these days

In future maybe you should take a photo of you loading the items into the bag, another one of you walking down the street, and then another of you putting it in the box before emailing them to the punter. Should adequately cover you!

Prima head gasket should be no drama to any old school mechanic, they are pretty simple really. I managed to do mine alright.

Give me his email address and I'll pass it on to all the dickheads messaging me about my scooter. You'll probably get your items back and £500 in cash with an apology letter.

This also annoys me. Some I understand as BMW and Mercedes just don't have names and some Japanese stuff have a different name for different countries but sometimes it's just not needed
