Wtf is DUGONG DELIVERY SERVICE

Allow me to explain...

DUGONG DELIVERY SERVICE is a special car delivery service policy made available for members of Autoshite. Those of whom are members are entitled to use this service given that they are offered the service by Dugong himself. i.e An Autoshite member may have bought a car somewhere in the country away from their local area, but due to unforseen circumstances cannot go to pick the car up themselves, a message from Dugong will randomly appear as so 'DUGONG DELIVERY SERVICE AVAILABLE' this will be open to that member of whom cannot bring the bought car back.

Dugong will go to the location of the vehicle to fetch the car (providing its new owner has paid for the car) and drive the car to its new owner. The car can be fresh off the production line or be in just about driveable condition. But however the car is, Dugong will deliver that vehicle for you.

DUGONG DELIVERY SERVICE started sometime in 2013 delivering a Citroen BX Estate for his first ever customer, Angyl Vulgalour. The Vehicle did suffer problem during delivery rendering it almost becoming completely undriveable, despite this setback, Dugong got the car delivered to its happy new owner.

... I think we need enamel grille badges with a picture of a Dugong and a fucked Citroen.

It's like Churchill, but a Dugong.

Or...

Every website/forum wanting you to install their personal App on your phone and redirecting you to the App Store to get it every time you visit the site.

Sod off! I dont want tapatalk or any of the 3 million other forum apps cluttering up my phone memory when the standard browser does the job absolutely fine.

Ask me once, then leave me alone when I say no thanks.. Don't redirect me every sodding time I visit!

Spot Grump. Was in the stairwell of my office heading to the nearest can when I see about 50m away is the primest bit of Vauxhall/Holden shite. I didn't have my phone on me, so no pic. Came back up to grab my phone and out the same window and see the car reverse and make off down the road sounding very much like it was being driven by an elderly owner.

The car... an E reg Cavalier Estate in "white". Haven't seen one in about 10 years, but have fond memories of one near me growing up, so would have been nice to have got a pic.

Sod's Law I guess.

^^^ s'happened to me a few times. There was one Blue Mk2 Rover 820i I kept on seeing around my area, but everytime I saw I had always 'forgotten' my phone at home. The last time I saw it when I actually had a phone on me and I was in a car, I couldn't catch it up. Though I managed to get a shit blurry photo taken from afar.

Just found out thriugh Flickr that my old school is being demolished. A lot of it had been refurbed and some of it rebuilt after a fire in 1997 (not caused by me) but its now been replaced by one these new "super schools" of which a large section of woodland was razed for.

It pleased me greatly when I found out my old school was being demolished. If I'd been less skint I would have volunteered to work on the demolition for nothing. I was less pleased to find that they were leaving the facade.

Same with my old school. It's been left abandoned for a good year though so people have had a chance to smash the shit out of it. Wish I'd had the chance to join them.

This probably belongs in the Grin thread.

Neil Skene, the MD of the demo company, was in my year at school. I reckon the guys standing in the background were former pupils too because it sounded as if Mr Galloway's office was being demolished manually.

...and I bet this one single contract made all the hard work building up his company totally worthwhile...

well i am a bit shocked, i have just been to buy my saph an oil pump because the rotor and housing is scored meaning its delivering lower oil pressure than it should, i had to get it from ford as no one makes an aftermarket one for the twincam, to be honest i feel as if i have been anally violated without even the offer of a reach around, the bastard was £331 with v.a.t  its a 20 year old motor for gods sake, i mean yes i could have carried on driving it with lower oil pressure or got a replacement engine, but i like things to be spot on and who is to say that engine wouldn't have a similar problem as the oil pumps on these are shite and i have spent quite a bit of time and cash on my engine with uprated head gasket, top end build with new lifters etc, timing chain kit so i think in this case its better the devil you know. what did cheer me up though was when i came out an rs turbo powered mk4 escort van had decided to avoid all the parking spaces next to the new crap and park next to the saph  :-D

So very true. If it does get too much then I will sell the ones I don't need, but I feel like I will reach a point where I can give them time and money, it just won't be now....

I guess I should be greatful (and I am) that I am in some form of full-time work now working with people who are nice and down to earth to work with near home, so I earning money.

One thing I did leave out is that I reckon the KV6 has started the inevitable HGF. Its been dropping coolant. I was also advised that if I wanted to take a car over with me, I should concentrate on getting the Mk2 827 Sterling on the road and parking up/breaking the KV6. That is going to cost to put the 827 back on road so I may not be able to take a car with me abroad.

Let the potlessness commence so I can make a new start on saving again.

Honestly, if they're not working, you have to weigh up whether they are ever going to work again. You're not going to be able to drive 4/5/6 cars at once and if you're forking out god knows on storage, it's just best to cut your losses and either scrap them or 'make a loss' by selling one to someone who has time/money to fix them. The feeling you get from only having one car that works is great. I don't think I could handle having a load of cars of the same make, although I would love a mk1 827. I miss some of the cars I got rid of, but I don't miss the countless hours trying to fathom out why they didn't work.

I'm lucky in that all my cars work with only two a couple of weeks from MOT passes, but if one was being stubborn long term I wouldn't hesitate to offload it.

As James Brown said:

What cars do you own, by the way? And which ones work?

It was going to happen sooner or later - someone's taken a dump on my eBay feedback that's been 100% positive since 2002.

Stupid twerp won a lens off me and didn't pay. After a week I messaged him politely asking for the payment (something about a failed checkout) giving a deadline before I relisted it. The time passed and I sent him another message saying it was relisted and that I'd block him if he tried to bid.

Yesterday he negs me saying my postal charges were 'hideous' and that he never received the lens. Elephant in the room, slick - YOU NEVER PAID. Hilariously the bloke below me (who subsequently won the relisted lens) gave me positive feedback on the 23rd, you know, for receiving the lens he paid for a minute after winning the auction.

Summary : MORON.

What chance have I got of getting the negative feedback removed?

Posted

A neg burns for a bit but there's idiots aplenty on Ebay, it will slip off your feedback eventually.

Like a buyer opening a case because they were not in to sign for something twice then it being my fault.  Just glad I was selling stuff I'd got for free.

Honestly, I'm tempted to rather bridge the 405 than listing it on tardbay.

I rather get beaten up for it here, than dealing with those twats.

It can be done. Ring ebay and explain that a none paying bidder has left negative. They can see all the messages between you and they can remove it if they feel it is unjustified / inaccurate.

We contest every negative and whilst they won't always remove them, they will sometimes remove them. I'd say given that he didn't pay then you've got a fairly good chance of getting it removed.

Wish i had been able to get it.

Cost me £100 in train fare and insurance & i cant get it or drive it if i did have it.

Got same problem as you with alfa, cant see it selling.

I read somewhere that leaving a profane response to feedback results in it being removed. That may no longer be/never have been true though.

My old school has recently been demolished too.. That is weird.

Conspiracy theory here.

Perhaps the 'Men in Black' have found out about 'Autoshite 'and have put Plan A into action? Don't look at the red flashy thing people! We will end up not having existed.

my old school got re branded as an academy and still stands, my old maths teacher is the headmaster

My old maths teacher used to drag me up out of my chair by my hair when I failed to grasp basic equations.

He was ex military and a right bastard with kids. Hopefully he has been demolished now also!

Both the schools I went to are still there. UNFORTUNATE.

Perhaps you are the Chosen One and will rule Autoshite until the dawn of the new age?

Possibly..

Both my schools are still there too. The grim looking secondary I went to was extensively refurbished the year after I left.

I liked my schools.
