The fleet is reduced to this which has been with me since 1992.

Edit: blast, (most) Triumphs are even more expensive then I thought...

I paid not much less for this one than i sold my last GT6 for, and this one is pretty shoddy in comparison. I have been looking at prices for a while and they seem to be creeping up for cars of the late 60's early 70's so kind of saw it as a last chance for me to be able to afford to pick one up. That A40 is lush. Very jealous, and the same of the 500. Wheels look very good on it.Is it sitting lower than usual at the back or is it just the angle? Has it got a different engine in or been lowered or something? Either way i want it, but these have rocketed price wise in the last few years. If you had it since 92 it has probably been a very shrewd investment.

thanks for the coments  It's on lowered springs front and rear. This gets rid of the scary positive camber on the back wheels, and to use the cliche, it really does corner like its on rails. Downside is that the wheels rub on the arches so carrying a passenger is a no-no. Ride quality is also compromised! As soon as I get some spare cash, it's going back onto the originals. The engine is modified to 700cc with cam, carb, electronic ignition etc. The original output is doubled but it's still only about 35bhp :D Rimz are quite rare and were found in Holland. I think repros are available now. It's starting to look a bit sorry for itself in the metal now, but that's going to have to wait

Excellent variety of fabulous cars here. Ed that Cortina estate is awesome, I need to get a Mk5 one day.

Here's my tat, more J-tin I'm afraid (with one stalwart British interloper!) :P

1968 Datsun 1000 (B10 Sunny) - original Nissan press car and from the first batch of Datsuns imported:

1974 Datsun 140J Violet - looks better than it drives

Posted Image

1984 Mazda 323 1.5 GT - a hoot to drive but coming out of daily service soon:

Plus Mr B's Mazda 929 stacklight are giving me massive J horn. :D

Absolutely stunning, I fancy something different next year, this is providing incredible inspiration.

106 Rallye also works for me. I looked at buying one when new but didn't in the end. Always wished I had as finding a decent one now seems difficult.

That fwd Triumph is my choice-allways liked those 8) I think I have a practical classics magazine with that cars story in it.

Be up for sale imminently. Just got to finish rebuilding the head and re-fit it!

Awesome picture. Can I ask how you did it?

Thanks! It's just a dark garage and a fluorescent inspection light hanging by the driver's window. 30 second exposure.

Is it being restored as a Carawagon? Or just a standard 109?

Carawagon of course!!It's only a one owner vehicle, and is a very early example of a 6-cylinder 'bonneted control' Land Rover, so it's a bit more special! All the original Carawagon features are there, and not in bad nick considering it hasnt been taxed since 1989, and in that time has sat outside and had a cat living in it! I will be adding some original Carawagon options it doesn't have fitted, to make it more 'expedition' spec, if you will. Things like the Jerry can mounts, bigger over cab roof rack, either a tool box of capstan winch on the front etc etc. Thing is, it will be hopefully used for lots of touring once it is done!!

I don´t know if my two cars quality for shite, but I do think so...

Great to have a Galloper on here! I might get some black wheels for my Pajero (page 1 of this thread) - looks great.

Anything called a Galloper Exceed must qualify as Solid Gold autoshite, and I like the Camry.

Posted

Like those Camrys - very nice. I keep hoping to find an Executive estate with wheel-arches still intact.

Posted

There's a place on Canvey, at Charfleets that had loads of brand new wings for Camrys about 4 years back. I had two on my 2.0 Tesco Value Camry. Easy to fit too!

The daily, as it was...

Then finally all back together, repainted and being used!

Loving that. If Autoshite did calendars that should be on the front page.
Well can my daily get february? :P

It's spent a week with Calum's A40!
