Filled up the tank from empty for a trip to Wales this weekend. 45 litres , or 63 quid. 😳

Just as well I can coax over 45 mpg out of it!

  • DoctorRetro changed the title to The Doctor's travels through time. - Extremely camp

Popped into town today to get my second upgrade jab.

Parked next to this monstrosity.

If you can afford one of these, shouldn't you be able to afford the tyres?

  • DoctorRetro changed the title to The Doctor's travels through time. Tyred

The tread in the central 3/4 of the tyre looks ok to me.

Indeed.  There looks to be at least the 1.6mm required over the centre 3/4 of the width, and there are no cords showing.  Would pass an MOT test. (Just!)

  • 4 weeks later...

Not much to update, I've replaced the Renault alloys with Mini steels, repaired the cracked mirror and done a hill climb at Shelsey Walsh.

Have been toying with selling, because that's what I do, but difficult to see what I'd replace it with that'd be any better.

I did see a 'nice' Skoda 120L on Facebook, but it sold before I could pull my finger out and enquire.

  • DoctorRetro changed the title to The Doctor's travels through time. End of month update

Good job repairing the mirror, most would have chucked it away and bought another..  Although not sure how easy it is to get a replacement mirror for one of these!

The only ones breaking are the body coloured ones, and the sellers aren't exactly letting bits go cheap. One seller wanted 40 quid for a sun visor. 😬

Ah, was there myself on the Sunday. Too last minute a decision to book a run up the hill in the  Pontiac! 😂

how does it hug the corners?

It's competent, if a little squishy. Probably some worn components, the top rubbers are a little perished, it's on the to-do list.

  • DoctorRetro changed the title to The Doctor's travels through time. Land speed record?

Why is the offence date and time only half an hour ago?
Did it drive OK At 90+?
So many questions

It sits fine at 3 figures, and I wasn't far from home.

Ooooft not a good speed to get caught at. A colleague got caught at 95 in a 70 and was going to get 6 points but he pleaded his case he would loose his job and ended up with 4 from the magistrate.

Hope it goes well. Solid Japanese engineering at that speed 🙂

How can you have been notified of a speeding ticket from today already?

It was a pull from an unmarked car. They send you an email at the roadside.
