If my memory serves me correct the fiat twin cam dosnt have the balance shafts in the engine. I've got a idle control valve still sitting on a dedra turbo twin cam engine in garage if you end up needing one.

Came in expecting to see the more recent estate thing they made. This is WAY better. Although someone should definitely get the newer one as well so we can do a head to head.

Well done. I've had many Themas over the years and have loads of parts which are common to these including a full stainless exhaust and wheels with winter tyres.

Thanks for all the help!

I’ll have a go at the idle control valve tomorrow and keep you updated, I think I know what I’m looking for.

That is absolutely delicious. The seats look sexual too.

On turbo it's bolted near throttle body

Am I right in thinking that this is it?

Yes that's it, take it off and put ign on then look in it while plugging it in and you should see it move, and feel it too.

Arghh didn’t think to do that!

I’ve had it off and cleaned it out with WD40 the best I could, didn’t try and take it apart though. Just been on a run for an hour or so and it’s still lumpy and cutting out on idle occasionally so it might be knackered. I’ll have it back off tomorrow and do what you suggested!

It could also be the Co that needs adjusting. It might be running a bit lean. I've got a Co machine, but it's a bit far for you to come to Barnsley, but you can if you want to.

What rpm does it idle at? . Should be about 800rpm, adjuster is on top of throttle body, it's a brass lock nut and flat blade screw driver adjuster. You set it with idle control valve disconnected and engine warm.

you'll prolly be better using icv cleaner or carb cleaner the wd40

Funnily enough, I spotted a Croma on the road here in NZ just the other week.

Had a drive of its Italian cousin the other week

That must be then only 8.32 in NZ I'd have thought.

Decided to see how water tight she is today, the answer is around 87%, not bad.

A little bit shinier now anyway, could definitely still do with a proper detail, but that’s low on my rather large list of priorities.

I've never been though an automatic car wash, must admit it wouldn't be my first choice in an old Fiat!

There was a lot of bum clenching going on.

What’s the details??

Might be hard pushed to have it sorted in time if it’s this month!

Would be a bit* ambitious to try drag it and myself up there this month, I’ve only ventured as far as Hartlepool since passing me test?

We should definitely try and get a NE shiters gathering set up soon though, once I’ve sorted some of the Cromas more pressing issues.

May have to source some yellow fogs to fill those two blanks.....

Points for being the first car I've seen with the indicator light for heated seats in the instrument cluster rather than on the switch.

Definately ^ WD40 is rubbish for idle control valves that are sticky

If you don't have an ultrasonic bath and some solvent - manual method is normally quite effective

Remove it - 50% fill with carb cleaner

Fingers over holes - agitate for a few mins

Drain - note colour of liquid removed

Repeat until carb cleaner coming out after agitation is nearly same colour as new stuff going in
