stephen01 Posted July 4, 2021 Posted July 4, 2021 So glad you had found the nearest petrol station! It’s a nice straight drive tbf, already missed it on the drive at home. Good news for the engine light! sdkrc 1
Split_Pin Posted July 5, 2021 Posted July 5, 2021 If you are keeping it for a time, a Creator C110 code reader and general digital whip is £25 well spent. I've used mine rather a lot on the R56. It's a damn fine wee piece of kit made for BMWs post 2000 and can do/read a lot of stuff on the Mini. Alternatively give us a shout and I can banish rogue codes for you!

Asimo Posted August 7, 2021 Posted August 7, 2021 That’s impressive driving. I never managed much over 80mpg for that distance. Good to know magic Honda is still magic. mk2_craig, Jim Bell and sdkrc 3
sdkrc Posted August 18, 2021 Author Posted August 18, 2021 Having done 600 miles in the roffle Bini, I decided to use the low hanging fruit in the free service kit, spark plugs and air filters. Check out this naughty spark plug Unfortunately I wasn't enjoying the Bini's go kart suspension. It doesn't really work around the east end of Glasgow as the roads have been hand crafted by artisanal road workers using only the biggest and dirtiest potholes and the smallest of cares. I also needed to do a big ol' journey with the family and wanted a car which was both cavernous and which gave the missus the impression of safety® Roll on this disco and PXing the mini...but not before a puncture the day before I'm supposed to swap This made me notice the uneven wearing on the inside edge. A fair bit worse than I remembered. Paid for some fresh 'Rovelos' and let the buyer know about the suspension woes. I'm about 850 miles into the disco @31mpg. The missus likes it, I like it, everyone seems to like it. It's like driving a bunk bed from the top bunk. Similar handling too. I also really enjoy the sound of the creamy diesel engine. Very pleasant and smooth. 320touring, Tickman, Dan_ZTT and 6 others 9

sdkrc Posted August 22, 2021 Author Posted August 22, 2021 Just to reiterate, I have done absolutely none of the work (I wish I had this level of skill and drive) and this only represents some of the blood sweat and tears that have gone in. sdkrc Posted August 24, 2021 Author Posted August 24, 2021 I've been trying to understand the spec/models for a while but it's all a bit bewildering. It seems the XL is a trim spec as is the LTD part. This one is almost exactly the same as mine minus the colours. I'd like to think about what colour to do the interior in next. Black doesn't go too well with the light blue https://classiccars.com/listings/view/1478114/1966-ford-galaxie-500-for-sale-in-milford-ohio-45150 Jim Bell and eddyramrod 2
eddyramrod Posted August 24, 2021 Posted August 24, 2021 Back then, the US manufacturers tended to colour-match paint and interior, a trick this side of the Atlantic never seemed to quite grasp. So a light blue on the seats and door cards, with perhaps a shade or two darker on the carpets, would be appropriate. sdkrc and Justwatching 2
GingerNuttz Posted August 24, 2021 Posted August 24, 2021 Has to be off white with blue stitching and a shag pile carpet. You'll be able to collect the money from your hoes in style 😂 Low Horatio gearbox, dome, sdkrc and 1 other 4
