Will be going an extremely long distance* collection tonight. Expect action to get underway after 7pm.

Delivery will take place on Saturday, but to who?

About to get underway from home. I'm used to  collection capers involving trains, planes, car and bus. My only transport to this vendors house is...

I lose track but I think Bramz had this briefly, if it's the one that's been doing the rounds on the forum.

This particular 406 was brought into the fold by prepace, he bought it from the original owner back in the summer, then I bought it from him. Its a lovely example.

I just noticed the petrol redline, there was a 2.2 HDi doing the rounds on here. V6?

Steady on old chap. I've come over all a quiver.

So part one complete. To recap. I nipped over to pick this beast up. Felt weird driving away a car with no exchange of reddies.

I was on strict instructions from the new owner:

Who was I to argue? A hastily arranged meeting was had with Loserone of this parish where we compared ew10 engined Peugeots in the form of his 206 GTi.

Sure Mike would agree the 206 is a tad scruffy outside, but drives far better than you'd think, tight as a drum and always feels eager with its sharp throttle. Pleasantly surprised.

Like I've said, 406 is a very different animal but fine for it. A very capable car for eating up the miles as it will do on delivery South to its anonymous lucky new owner on Saturday. Cruise seems an odd omission but reckon it could be added.

Got home a long time after I should have thanks to EVERY FUCKING MOTORWAY in the West of Scotland being shut.

My tea was had whilst still at work around half 5.

Nice little run out for the 206.  It's fucking ace, I hope it does OK for its MOT.

Excellent economy over 15 miles of spirited country A road, then a solid 70 on the m74.

The new owner might have to prize the keys off me, I've really settled into this thing well. Making me want to go and bring the 405 out of hibernation.

I got 45mpg driving it home from Cambridge, which was outstanding I thought. Unexpectedly decent motorway cruiser

All delivered.
