Can we save this?

Mazda 323, 1.5 Manual.

MOT June 2020.

Revs won't settle - possibly vacuum leaks. It was sitting for 5 years. Wheel bearing needs doing.

I'd grab it for the 300 quid it's up for but I haven't a bean to spare this month.

It's on Facebook for sale and is attracting knuckle daggers and banger racers.

I'd love to see it saved.

Any ideas?

Is it driveable as it is, say 94.8 miles?

Just thinking out loud.

See that tall bloke painting Claire's boat?  He'll bring it home.

Should see why not.

Can even store it at mine and work on the carb / vac hoses if need be.

Rebadge it, sell it on as a Sao Penza?

This is a very, very attractive proposition as my favourite garage has my Gamma and a list of stuff on other cars already, but will only do one at a time at their pace. I was wondering how I would fix it.

It is not a done deal yet, as I have already bought one car while Mrs6C is away on holiday.

I've even got a 'spare' insurance policy for it.

For some reason he doesn't think I noticed! :-)

Nice Mazda. Not sure it's worth £300 without an MOT but it looks worth saving to me. GIB as they say.

MOT history showing as passing  on 4th June, so MOT'd until 3rd June 2020.

Edit; just noticed it was mentioned in the first post.

To sum up, I'm offering collection, storage and attempted repair. I just don't have the cash to actually purchase it.

This is GR9, love the yellow dash lights on these.

One of you needs to buy it, fix it, transport it up to Scotland then roffle it then I'd be very interested...

So you're gonna be wearing steel knickers for when she finds out

I would be all over that but it's just hit at the wrong time ( I was looking at the estate version)

So it is! I had skipped straight to the photos...

Fair enough, then...

I’d have been interested as a matching pair with my Penza, had it been blue. And I wasn’t over 3xtended. And .......

Think the seller is holding out for the full 300 quid at the moment...

Is it really worth £300?

It's a working car with 12 months MOT.

It's fun saving an old 323...

B-series engine? If so - non-interference too...(says the man reading wikipedia)

If cash is the only thing stopping this being saved, I would be willing to put up half the price.

Definitely. I wish I could afford it, there'd be no haggling - I'd just go and collect.

I have fixed it for you to appeal more to the average shiter on here :-)

Just burn it and save up a bit for a nice blue Rover 45 CVT......

Actually looks a bit nice. GIB someone, GIB.
