Sad I know the answer to this. Not actually the front lights but additional side light in the indicator lenses, that light the front sides of the car.

Can actually be useful when reversing at night with the front end of the car swinging round.

 

Fair do's. I thought he meant those massive spotlights come on when reversing! Never heard of that before but doesn't sound like a bad idea actually.

By the looks of the tow bar on this Discovery I'd say it's not towed anything heavier than a two bedroomed bungalow. I probably still would mind as the Van version seems more appealling for some reason.
