So it finishes in 2 hours, they expect you to get down there, get it taxed and drive it home by the end of the day, good luck with that.

FFS these things were shit new. Not shite but shit. Some even had a mirror-image gearchange pattern.

I bought this car from Blackburn auctions around 15yrs ago, (and paid a mile over the odds for her, but wanted her due to my grandad use to have 1). she was taxed and tested, so i drove her back, parked her in my mill, and she has been there ever since.

 

So its actually a mill find.

To be fair, the fish tank is probably the best use of the KA, they are truly shite.....(not in a good way, pitiful cars)

What's a 'mirror image gearchange pattern'?

2nd & 4th  gear forward,1st & 3rd back,i know had one for years doing discos around colchester,you could hear the big ends long before you saw the van.

Was painted black by simple method of spending several hours in pub,then tipping a couple of large tins of paint  over roof,then spreading it around as it ran down,still a j4 shaped outline outside house.

then back to pub.

next  day several hours scraping paint from windows as we had forgotten about them.

Then there was the episode with the black maria and southend airport but thats another story.
