Almost 200 bhp? Never realised that. Front end looks a bit quirky but the rest of the design has aged well. Looks lovely for the money.

As someone that has actually owned an A series V6, let me just say "no fucking way would I do it again". A Ford Capri engine really isnt up to hauling around 6 tons of pig iron. Especially if you have dreams of going more than 50mph. Once it reached 50, depressing the pedal further just decreased MPG from around 9 down to about 6. it did sound good though. :D

Any mechanical parts are almost impossible to find and even Ford Insurance wont insure them. Eventually got mine covered as an ex military vehicle which it was. Theres no syncho on 1st and the gear shift is like a points change lever on the railway track. Mine eventually got scrapped as the ally body was worth a fair bit.

Mine looked like this, but with more rust, bullbars and a railway sleeper front bumper.

On the plus side, it never got stuck in the mud at festivals. First is so stupidly low and with the tall skinny tyres, managing to cut through the slop until they found something to grip, it would always pull itself through. We did manage to sleep 9 people in it once.

Am I right in thinking the VTEC_YO flagship was 2.0 and the 2.2 was the more relaxed engine?

Other way around, the 2.2 was the VTEC. :)
