£850 for an old Transit with no MOT that needs welding? What's to like about that?

Isn't it compulsory to tag  @RayMK when these are mentioned?

Thanks. I had already seen it. No mention of the all important chassis condition or the state of the coachbuilt body (mostly aluminium with wooden framework but it looks restorable. The price is fair.  Mine is a 1961 Regal MKVI - well into the fibreglass bodied phase of three wheeler production which came a couple of MKs earlier, although mine is still coachbuilt.  The fully fibreglass bodies came next with the OHV engined Regals.  I'm probably going to sell mine. Not sure when. Maybe this year. I have been saying that for the last four years.

I find it so odd that you could buy the Passat with an Audi V6 from the A6 when VW had their own VR6 with almost identical power output.

But the Passats had them inline like the Audi, whereas the VR6 was mounted transversley in all the stuff it was fitted in. I think so anyway. There may exceptions to this rule but it was probably easier to transplant the Audi V6 than to turn the VR6 round. That's my theory anyway.

The VR6 is mounted inline in the Touareg / Cayenne and early Phaeton.

Okay, well that blows that theory out of the water doesn't it? I'm sure VW had their reasons but perhaps we'll never know.

I'd rather put my face on a fucking George Foreman grill, than the front of that 'legendary' one.

BTW I completely believe  that this did belong to the ex Spurs/England forward, because its too crap an association for anyone to have invented. £2.5k seems pretty reasonable for one of these too, even if it looks like Apollo Creed's boxing trunks.
