 1993 Citroen BX TXD Turbo . £4,000 BIN

Quote
166000 miles MOT until August
Quite clean on the outside and a big head tuner. The interior likewise has aged well. The turbo diesel engine runs well. Just had the injector pump rebuilt
While it does look great and is mechanically sound it has some small electrical issues. The rev counter and oil gauge don’t work at the moment, I have had an auto electrician look at it and he said it just needs some sensors replacing. The suspension works as it should making it very comfortable to drive along.

They are great little bikes, got one exactly like that (well, in a worse condition) in my storage. It hadn't run for possibly 20 years plus, yet it fired up after a bit of tinkering.

You just have to admire camera skills* like that.

And then to post the video...

(Poor old Darwin, it was such a good theory but events have rather overtaken it)

Have we had this mildly broken but very cheap C6 yet?

What could possibly go wrong with a £440 c6?

This seems to have been Forksayle for ever. Fairly sure it was previously a Classified / BIN, but no auction, starting £2500 with a BIN of £3000. Despite the trainers, they seem to have the Formula for crack

But don't worry about that, because...

That top one looks remarkably like the sort of tyre we took off a CZ175 field bike in 1982, because it was fucking rubbish.

The Suzuki & Yamaha Bike Shop I worked at in the 80s we used to take all the GP100/125 painted items, tank, tank flap, side panels, seat hump off the five bikes we got as a batch.

Lay them out on the floor.

Try and make a complete set the same colour red,

then perhaps a seconds set all the same colour red.

Never got as far as three sets of matching reds, so just assembled the best we could out of the rest.

Salesman used to give a bit of a deal on the worst match, reducing in deal to the one/two that had all the same colour red.

The blue ones weren't quite so bad.

We got engine rebuilds down to under an hour from ride it in, ride it out.

Re-bore and crank rebuild.

Not sure if pea roast…

Low mileage Benz dizzle for £2.1k.

On a scale of snail-like to glacial, exactly how slow are these in n/a 5-pot guise?*

I imagine quite slow, but imagine how amazing it would sound being thrashed everywhere just to keep up with traffic!

The Rexton I had a couple of years ago was a 2.9 turbo 5-pot Mercedes derived lump. It was borderline glacial but sounded hilarious. It was probably similar to a 1.8 N/A diesel Peugeot 205 in a straight line (but far worse on corners).
