He says he's another shell available which would be ideal as that's what I did to mine in the three day week we suffered caused by the 1981 recession in the steel industry (mine was a brand new shell, one of a pair I found in a scrappies ).

Forty years on, the only difference is I wouldn't be outside in pouring rain dragging a rear axle off, oh, and probably a divorce as I showed my Mrs the pic and she said "that thing"!!!

That's round the corner from my house!

Pieman posted it in the Spotted thread one time and a couple of years ago it was at FOTU.

It's a Dutton Sierra kit car which I think is based on a mk2 Escort

Pink camouflage is an interesting choice.

Paid £30 for my manual version from my office mate as that's what the scrappie offered him. Came with a month's MoT (passed next one) and tax. Had it a couple of years until I jet washed the engine bay.

As said, it’s a Dutton Sierra kit car. Escort based, which if you squint you can see the Mk1 Escort doors and windscreen. A mate of mine built one in ‘88-‘89 and was very proud of it. Personally, I always thought it was your typical rattly kit car, even though my mate was the kind to work to pretty high standards it always seemed unfinished. I imagine you’d be up against the combined problems of a forty odd year old home built car, using fifty odd year old components, questionable build quality of everything (the Ford bits, the Dutton bits and the aftermarket shit it’s undoubtedly smothered in), forty years of bodgery and parts prices that used to be pennies now being platinum.

Hard to get rid of that one too. Takes a lot of hours, mostly ending in failure crying on your own in the dark. So I'm told...
