Looks like a very decent buy for the money. SE+ is top-spec, similar to the estate we had some years ago. Good to drive too, it was just niggly stuff and an MoT failure that meant ours had to go but a subsequent owner kept it on the road for several more years.

The brush script font on the dials is something I remember:

Bargain. cool colour too. I wonder if I could get it ULEZ exempt. I know a lot of 2000 cars actually have the appropriate nox levels

The only Montego that could possibly be worth close to seven bags is a nice MG Turbo.  A base spec diesel saloon, especially an early one with the silly diff ratio, isn't worth anything close to that however nice it is.

I remember this being found in a shed but everything went quiet after that. 

I remember something about it subsequently being chopped about and having the modern running gear installed. It doesn't look like that has been declared to DVLA though
