What was the last UK car sold with a side-hnged bonnet?

Wolseley 4/50 and 6/80 up until 1954, I believe.

its a bus, and its one of the 4 original prototypes, rather then a production example, but RML3 from 1958 does (uniquely for a Routemaster) have a side hinged bonnet :)

Prototype AEC Routemaster RML3 (SLT 58), with its unique original front restored (including side-hinged bonnet unlike standard RMs) in Regent Street as part of the unique 2014 'London Bus Cavalcade' event, 22 June 2014

The normal Regent V sold to the provinces had a side opening bonnet far later than that. Southamptons last one was F reg but I'm sure I've seen some on a G.

Wow, can't wait to see his YT channel.

"SInce then the car has been subject to a light overhaul, has been featured on my own Youtube channel "All things Alex" in which I set about cleaning out the car, removing clutter and belongings.

I then set about getting it to run and drive. To date, the following parts/work has been carried out:

New Battery...

Interior cleaned and hoovered out."

Wasn't the Estelle side-hinged? Yes I know it's the 'boot' and the engine is in the rear. I'm just trying to win on a technicality.

If we're being pedantic, the Rover P3, Wolseley 6/80, Morgan 4/4 etc.  are centre hinged.

I shouldn't look in this thread as I'm a sick man and I can't help myself for bad life choices. I'd love that.

Has been for sale for months now (was posted here for 2500 originally). I'm afraid even 1100 is still asking too much here in the UK.

Are parts likely to be hard to obtain, or just not a big following for this stuff? I'd have thought someone like Rockauto could supply a gasket set.

Rockauto - radiator,  head gaskets, head bolts.  So no excuses, and remember RED VELOUR.

After my post I went straight on there, priced up the job, and thought for about £200 that's got to be worth it 🤣

Somebody buy my BX so I can buy this please 😅

I bought an entire reconditioned cylinderhead for the supercharged 3800 in a Riviera for a friend once on Rockauto. Couldn't believe you could still get one for what is a 25 year old car, as common as the engine might be. So yeah, parts supply or cost won't be the issue at all.

I had one of those when I was six, tied it to the "bonnet" of my pedal-car. Brrrmmm Brrrmmm, whoosh - instant Biggles mode...

Someone intentionally imported this to the UK to sell it for 36 grand, during a time when people pinch every penny. Some people are just braindead.

I can't find it on my handy wall chart - oh, hang on, it's missing mortuus cerebrum

Do you know where that picture was taken?  I thought that red one was my incoming one for a second but wrong grille.  I have seen that lovely Apple green one on Facebook a few times. would be perfect for me as its now ULEZ compliant, and I think that one closest to camera is the guy who I gave my Favorit towbar to

It was at Škodafest 2017 at Stanford Hall, somewhere Northants/Leicestershire way. I haven't done a Škodafest for about 3 years now what with covid mainly. Hopefully all these cars are still tucked away somewhere as they were all the good ones.
