Those tail lights look like they've gone brittle!

The rear three quarters is so similar to the Lancia Gamma. Admittedly, there's a reason for that!

Always liked a nova, especially back when I first passed my test in 1993 but they held their money so well that getting one was always a bit out of my reach. 

The closest I came was in 1995 when a friend of a friend had a black SR with a caved in rear quarter that I think he wanted a grand fitted on a d plate, cheap even then for an SR. 

Sadly there was no loyalty even back then with some folk and a handshake clearly wasn't enough for him to wait the 6 days until I got paid to buy it so he sold it to some other plum for £50 more than I'd offered. 

I was truly gutted at the time but I did end up getting an Uno turbo which was the far superior car in almost everyway so not too bad, although I reckon my hands might have stayed a bit cleaner with the Nova. 

I did actually get to drive one a few years later as I swapped cars (I had a mk 2 golf 16v) with a very pretty girl one night to have a blast in and it wasn't for me, pedals were a bit closer together but I loved the 6 clock dash and waaaaappppp sound it made.

Not the most exciting car and "never failed an mot" isn't true, however it is £300 and has MOT till October. Never had any body rot related advisories or fails, which is remarkable for a 22 year old Corsa...

Theres a Nova cabriolet with its original owner recently appeared just down the road from here. Haven’t been able to get a photo yet.
