Someone here, possibly even this thread said (paraphrased) If you think you can modify a car, you probably shouldn't. This is why I've saved this till last (for tonight) as I now regret spunking £20 on a Chinese takeaway that I reckon I'll be seeing again shortly.

And the fucker is £1500 start. PRE 70 IZ CUMIN (as we used to say).https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Austin-Somerset-Custom-Hotrod/203306285794?hash=item2f55ffbae2:g:mQIAAOSwYQBf~Dbc

I might have a punt on the Daimler.  I doubt I'll win it though.

@Motown & @Lord Sterling to the beige courtesy phone. BOGOF 800's but it appears that neither run, one possible OMGHGF. And a BIN at nigh on £2400. Still, https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1990-Rover-820Si-with-1990-Rover-827Si-Donor-Car/363324826507?hash=item5497d8e38b:g:y7UAAOSwliBgUQO5 Apt number plate?

That looks lovely. My dad had a G reg Vitesse. I'd love a nice one of those with a manual gearbox

Not cheap, and 15mpg gets boring pretty quickly, but surely this should be on my list of ULEZ cheating forever cars?

This Tercel makes Wobbler's old one look concours, but it is cheap at least.

I don't know what happened with the Tercel. I don't remember them from when they were new at all - they seemed to suddenly exist once they were 20 years old or so.

Also odd with that - the seller says he has owned it for 26 years. So he bought it in 1994 or 1995. At that time it was 10-11 years old. It hasn't been taxed since 1994. That's like me buying a 2010-2011 Yaris and just dumping it for the next quarter of a century. Why would you do that?

I really enjoyed both Protons I owned. Alas I have no use for one now.

Now that actually looks like a good prospect, the seller seems to be honest and approachable, and has written a good ad. Makes a nice change...

Ripe for last-minute bidding frenzy, despite the rust. And there's a lot of that....
