My Dad had a very early 214 in a low (windy windows, no PAS) trim but that at least got the fake wood, that's proper miserable. Was a colour an option or did you have to go for clear over primer?

Yes the price is right. I've never heard anybody call a V12 Jaarg a "daily driver" unless you own an oil well - the steering pump pipe needs tightening apparently - why not just do it? They are completely undriveable without the PAS unless you are Charles Atlas. 

Rusty wings may equal rust elsewhere - it's the radius arm mounts on the back that detach spectacularly and need a lot of welding amongst other spots. 

Pre-HE its about 14 mpg.
