Actually, looking through the rest of the listings from that seller, it seems to consist entirely of random photographs of random vehicles in random places.  Seems a bit scammy.

Definitely a scam, one picture of the car & really unusual starting prices.

There are hundreds of ads of that nature at the moment, eBay don't seem all that fussed.

The first one you posted 'for me' was being sold because 'to big for Devon lanes' guess where I live?

I do want one before I die (so soon then) but what's with the prices of anyting American? Even stuff that to me seems as appealing as syphilis on your wedding night is £8K. Is there no such thing as a Yank with a reasonable price tag?

well there is Mr Ramrod's caddie? think thats less than £8k......

thing with any yank that makes it onto these shores, its either not been here long and is a fortune, or, its been here a while and its fucked.

or if its a muscle car then it could be both!

rust protection wasn't that high up on the list of things to do back in detroit back in the day.

Yes, there is such a thing.  Ask me how I know!

Why would someone put those Mk2 SRi wheels on that lovely Cavalier, it’s bad enough that they’re entirely the wrong size and offset so make it look weird but the fact they’re missing their centres means even on a FWD car they’d look shit. Is it really that difficult to find some silver painted restyles ?

If they had the right off set and the correct centre caps they'd be okay to be fair.

I'm guessing it tramlines under braking like an omega with worn out front wishbones.

The Transfluide was a fascinating model, ultimately unsuccessful. Have a look at how the gear selector positions were arranged!

The Fregate's misfortune was coming out at about the same time as the Citroen DS......

Yes! Nissan Serena DIESEL. The slowest accelerating car of the 90s, 0-60 in 27 agonising seconds on its way to a top speed of a heady 84mph.

Nah, that one's the 2.3D sports model - will get to 60 in about 22 sec and do nearly 90 flat out.

Can anyone explain this? 1982 registered R5. It's definitely not a super-early car with a later plate (unless it's had a lot of modification)....

....but!! Dash change! WTAF???

Bloody hell, that's in my watch list but hadn't spotted the dash change!  I thought it was only the smaller-engine versions that had that anyway?

It is an odd spec though - no reversing lights is also unusual on a relatively late car.

Intriguing...

My Renault guru reckons it started life as an 850 car and has been upgraded with other bits over the years. Possibly the engine/gearbox (and dash change) is out of an R4. Would like to see a close-up photo of what's been done to the bulkhead and dashboard to make it work - I bet it's not pretty

Double post, but, some thoughts. I've never driven one, but a motoring historian friend of mine reckons the Fregate is one of the most technically interesting early postwar cars. I think, apart from the Lancia Aurelia, no other ordinary family car in this class had all-round independent suspension in 1950 and apparently the ride/handling are superlative.

Although I've never heard a single good thing about the Transfluide, which is supposedly both troublesome and complicated, virtually every single survivor that comes up for sale (in the UK at least) is fitted with this gearbox, so perhaps they're not so bad after all if they've lasted this long. Another friend of mine has a very cool manual car for sale at the moment

The side rubbing strips are off an R4 as well...

What a time to be alive! One of the other Heron 750s is back up for sale. I wish somebody would save this thing, it really could be so pretty if it was done. I don't think there is a single 750 on the road anywhere even though they were built in much greater numbers than the Europa.
