I do like those A6 models but would prefer one with those perfect basic wheels they came on, and preferably in one of those slightly unusual colours Audi did at the time.

Those wheels are great, although I still enjoy the ones on the silver car too, but I disagree about the colour. I normally hate silver cars, but it is so crisp and perfectly aligned with the understated yet brilliant design that it's the colour I'd choose.
