How rough do we think a 140k mile Freelander 1 DI will be?

YES

" the rear propshaft has been removed I guess to improve the mpg "

Has anyone ever thought that if they remove BOTH propshafts, it'll get EVN MOAR miles to the gallon? Oh wait...

Out for a curry tonight, my reputation as a serial car purchaser got me a tip:

Beige on beige, someone GIB!

Edit, now I'm home posting from my PC rather than my phone: the seller is a friend (or possibly relative) of the distant relly by marriage I was out with tonight. I got the impression that they need it gone and cash 4 a quick sale m9 might get it away for a bit less than the asking. Even though the asking seems quite reasonable to me...

I really like these Eagles too, guess this was introduced to challenge Subaru. Quite an attractive design and a something a little different to most other blocky looking American cars of that era. The AMC range of the 1970s look interesting. Such a shame that they no longer exist.

“Hello, sales department?”

”Oh hi, I was wondering if you could help.  I want a base spec version of a car resembling my plain British Home Stores carpet slippers.  Any ideas?”

”I’ll have a look sir......ermmmm.....actually yes, there might be something here that tickles your fancy”

Oh god oh god oh god it’s still £94 with 10 hours to go.  It’s only near Brighton so not a mega big trip to collect and it has an MOT to December.

Already thinking that I could Roffle it for £1.50 a ticket if Mrs P hits the fucking roof or scrap it for similar money if divorce gets mentioned!

But the wing needs changing and that will be rocking horse poo

Darn, another excuse gone!

i know these are good wee cars - Mitsubishi Colts built by Malaysian chaos rather than Japanese ones.  I nearly bought the Mitzi version of one of these back in 2002 but lost out at the auction.  As a learner car for the daughter it’s ideal or I could use it as an easy driving commuter.

the first car of my dad's that i remember was a Viva HC.

that's why i have a soft spot for them. well that and the fact that they look ace.

this one is crusty, what are Viva's like for panels?

s-l1600.jpg

what, none, nothing, nada, i'd have better luck  finding rocking horse doings?

s-l1600.jpg

bollocks....

Sills and arches are available now. Also wings but expect to pay top dollar for 2nd hand NOS.  Club is helpfull/good in my experience current commitee seem to be very open to all walks of Viva owners.  If you are going to buy one do it now as prices are starting to rise quickly...

If nothing else, someone save the wheels!  That Vauxhall wheel design is just about perfect, best alloy wheel of the 1980s.
